TOR/CGY believed to be teams talking recently to LA about Richards trade. Guessing Leafs/Flames were trying to move their bad contracts.

I have seen the connection made many times here when debating who won the Kessel trade. The arguement used to always have at least one person saying "Boston won a cup". That is the exact same arguement I have a problem with when discussing the Richards and Carter trades.

I would rather be on Philadelphia's end on both deals right now.

If anybody on here thinks Bernier is worth the 5 plus mill he's gonna want.
They shouldn't be complaining about Dions contract.

Play like areal starter... Start playing some tougher games like 3 in 4 and B to B, start playing him a ton and see what he is instead of insulating him with Reimer, then we can make a clear determination of what Bernier is...

I feel more comfortable seeing Polak going up against them then either Phaneuf or Gardiner, you won't see them easily beat him to the outside and at least he will get into the shooting lane to block a shot.

I sometimes wish he would have been hurt at some point so we could have a look at our D without dion. Its gonna be fugly IMO

Cap hit is what matters... Pay Dion 20 this year as long as his hit is 4.5...

Weber signed during the 'cap circumvention' era. Preds and Weber took advantage. The meat of his contract puts him at 11 or 12 per year when you factor out the bullpoop years at the end. Subban successfully argued that which is what helped him get 9+.

Name a team with worse contracts than the leafs. it's just amazing when you look at our current contracts. And ppl think we can just retool?

This is exactly what the team is doing, because they know what they have in him.

And back to back's? Who cares. Every historical stat in existence shows you split those up. Who gives a poop how he'd do in the second.

Weber at 9 makes sense to me in this market... Dion at 7 for 3 years would have been fine, but for 7 is insanity...

Get Phaneuf away from this team, it starts the core change.
