Richards was a 70 point top two-way centre with a Selke nod when traded for...not a 15 point player. Thank you for hindsight, I just wished you had told us in the past while they were winning a Cup with him as their second line centre, made the Eastern Conference finals, then another Cup as their third line option.

I'd take losing a 2nd line scorer and PP specialist power forward for 3-4 years of competing for a Cup.

if you pick him up on waivers, does this year only count as half his contract while the rest of the years are his normal salary?

even so, i can see alot of players moved out to relieve salary. I wouldnt mind picking him up as a nice vet if we see guys like bozak, phaneuf, lupul, gardiner, riemer, franson moved out which is alot of salary cap heading out as well
