Still.....its a hefty contract for 5 years. - Fakepartofme
I was being sarcastic. It is a horrible pick up regardless. Being on waivers tells me NO TEAM wanted to even part with a 7th round pick for that contract. |

Don't worry. Richards will be our #1 center. He's only got 15 points because of the depth on LA. Nothing to do with his play. Nothing at all. - Aaron_85
he'll get way more points playing on a crappy team |

I'd take the cups too but it was still a good trade for Philly. - Aaron_85
yeah thats exactly how i see it.
a trade that helped LA win 2 cups
and a trade that helped PHI stock up for the future as they figured they had no shot at a cup
total win win
im not picking who won the trade, but 2 cups to me is a win no matter what it costs.

Finally someone sees it.
I'll stick to my original opinion.
Leafs should follow philly's footsteps.
Richards+Carter for the league leading scorer, Simmonds, Schenn and Couts?
Imagine what Kessel, Dion, Lupul, Gardiner, Clarkson(lol. Just kidding), Franson, could bring in?
Could easily get some building blocks. |

Saying it was a bad trade for philly because Carter and Richards have 2 cups.
Yeah. people are saying that. Read back a little. - jbold
No one said that.
Serious question, why do you try so hard to come across as a (frank)ing blowhard? |

No there HAS to be a winner and a loser!
Why do you think the NHL now uses shootouts. . . . |

To be fair, most people agree with you. They just say it in a different way. There was one or two guys last week who didn't though.
Those are chumps lol |

I would give my lefticle aka my left testicle to win a cup. Or just trade for the crappiest contract in history.
But when people laughed at my idea of doing what Philly did, because LA won 2 cups, was pure arrogance and ignorance.

So anyways.
imagine if the Leafs did trade our best Dman for Richards? Yikes.
If he does clear tomorrow, LA is going to have to eat a lot of salary in order to move him.
Or take back a poopty contract.

Unless they move out Bozak, Clarkson, Robidas and Lupul, then no.

agreed. I think franson gets a decent return. Low 1st if the defenseman market stays thin. Franson and JVR (whom i both like) to start the rebuild at the deadline. EVERYONE else but Rielly/nylander over the summer/at the draft.
Let's do it right for once...if burke had patience from day 1...nevermind - clark_griswold
Yesterday proposed JVR and Franny for Homenic Lois Leduc and 2nd rounders 15,16... |

Its funny most people want to rebuild this team with one or two first and a couple of second rounders.
But how many top 6 picks and first rounders do we have on this team that are all still young? - Fakepartofme
None. Except for Reilly and nylander

True. Unless you think he's better than Bozak.
But at least Bozak has a moveable contract. |
