29 goals and Kessel didn't get 1.

He is saving it for the rest of the season.

I feel offense is more important. Sue me. Again, 1 can be taught. The other cannot.

Bogosian is injury prone, almost the same age as JVR and easily worse than Dion Phaneuf.

Yep

Bi deal. The all star game is a (frank)ing joke.

- Bieksa#3

Exactly, it's kessels dream, non contact meaningless hockey, and he poops the bed in it too. What a (frank)ing loser.

I'm only saying it's being overvalued, because I feel many think it's more important than offense.
- RogerRoeper

It is important. Playoff games are tight. 2-1 games are the norm. You can't lose if you don't get scored on.

LOL. You're actually knocking a player over an exhibition game?

While we're at it, why don't you bring up him being picked last in the All-Star selection 5 years ago.

JVR is worth considerably more the bogo.

My last house was built in the 20's. 2 story. Bought it in 2005. I'd say no major Reno's since 50's. Did whole thing over. Put a 600sq ft addition on. Everything myself but the foundation
- Bieksa#3

Yeah, foundation's are kinda outside the DIY realm.

And Phil Kessel has been terrific in the playoffs and he's the posture boy for bad defense.

Defensive play imo, is starting to become overvalued. You can teach defense. You can't teach offensive abilities. I'm starting to feel like defensive play is getting valued more than offense.
- RogerRoeper

Thats why cup winners best players play defence, it's a character issue, they are choosing not to do it...

His teams have never won a series. And he puts up points. Wouldn't you rather have a guy with less points and more wins?

We have a house built in 39, small bathrooms, required custom cabinets and upgrading plumbing and electrical. That required tearin out the floor and walls an a second story. Did most myself, but jesus that was allot of hours.
- sloppyseconds2

That sounds painfull and dusy and dirty. Did you have to deal with the dreaded half story pony walls in the bathroom? Did a few of those, real female doges.

His teams have won series. And I really don't blame him for any of those losses. it's a team game.

Some. Gaborik really helped LA secure that last cup. Kane is not good defensively at all.

Not wanting to trade JVR for Bogo is fine but to say D is overrated as every contender wants to solidify the D core is nuts. The 80ies and 90ies are long gone so winning with offense alone is gone. Your strength is your offense so you need to sacrifice some to strengthen you poor D core. It's a no brainer.

Gaborick, unlike Kessel came into a culture already established, look what garbage culture Gaborick helped create in Columbus... If he goes into LA and (frank)s the dog, he is an instant outcast, but he liked winning and conformed... Same with Phil, you bring him in on a Nashville team ripe for winning and he conforms or becomes a bum, overpaid, and useless... You don't build and culture around these guys, you bring them in as a complement after, the Bruins weren't there yet, stye let him go, by the same token, NY let Gaborick go, and got better, they just weren't int he right spot with him leading...
