On the music topic.... I found this song a couple of days ago on a movie from the Flyfishing Movie Festival entires.

Hey Lefty, DL Eastern Rises. Kemchaka... russian rainbows who eat anything that looks like a mouse. These bows are puking up mice and even baby ducks... amazing movie with great sound track and characters.

I wonder if the deal was in place and Richards did not waive so Lombardi decided to just throw him out to Car/Edm

Does picking up Richards work for or against the tank?

Kassian hasnt been a scratch every 2nd or 3rd game. This just happened recently and he's in the line up now. Also, how does it appear Benning is shopping Kassian? You over and over turn media rumors into fact in your mind. Benning says he's not shopping but will listen TO ALL inquiries on ALL players. So in your logic, he's shopping the entire team then.

Enough with the half truths and exaggerations as you beat your "trade our young players for old or rental players." drum. Or at least stop being "matter of factly" about these stupid rumors you try and sell as facts.

- boonerbuck

Rebuild will start next year. Shopping Kassian or Lack is hardly 'trading all our young players for rentals'...wake the hell up man. And do a little proof reading as well...I never said move picks or high prospects for aging rentals. All I ever claimed is that Lack/Markstrom were movable at no real expense to the team and IF mngt has given up on Kassian then there may be a deal out there. You seem to forget playoffs are a priority for Benning/Linden and this current roster ain't gonna cut it...some one needs to draw you a road map it appears. I understand the whole 'process' thing but there is a way to improve the club by not giving up picks/prospects and too much youth.

It's a RUMOR site so half truths and exaggerations are played by most on here...that's what makes it fun. When these rumors pop up and circle around there always is some iota of validity to them or they wouldn't exist. When did they become 'fact'? And trade rumors have been surrounding Kassian for well over a month and they don't all come from sources around here...it comes from MANY angles and sources of validity outside of HB...whether tre true or not, who cares? It's fun to talk about and be passionate about improving this club.

Oh right...you wanted Horvat sent down prior to his 9 games...so it appears you don't really understand club improvement or needs at all. At least, that's how it looks anyway.

Yep.
All those leaf fans running their mouths about Dion. I hope they notice this. Even Angello mentioned in his blog that salary cap space might be all they get.

Benning would look like a total dip $hit if he picked up Richards off waivers. Especially if Nonuts didn't.

Just in case people are wondering...

How desperate do the Leafs appear?

That salary for a player who likely won't slot into the top 6....

I know I am still getting used to GMMG not being in power. I tend to get nervous when something like this happens. The fear of our GM doing something stupid.

He won't, Kings are our number one rival.... why help them get cap relief so they can add a productive player.

a ringing endorsement from a fan of Richards...

This is the addition through subtraction move I said we needed and D.L. is doing this because the guy skates like he is tied to a tree, passes like he has a purse in the crook of his elbow, spectates on 50/50 pucks and constantly gets on the wrong side of the puck so he can dog it back on D or make a horribly timed line change.

Now we are free to rotate the kids from manchester in (most likely shore). I am all for this move D.L. is a genius

In no way am I advocating picking Richards up or suggesting he is a solution, but you guys seem to be forgetting he is a free player. I'm pretty sure a team can place him back on waivers if he doesn't work out. What harm is it for any team to pick him up, see how he performs and go from there.

Maybe the Kings benefit from freeing up cap space but there is no guarantee they get a better player back through trade.... I think this is a desperate gamble by Lombardi, showing the team he isn't afraid to make some moves.

We live in a cap world.... cap space taken up by a player who can't produce costs you something. I wouldn't see him as free at all.

If that's the case, Richards should retire when the NHL announces the Oilers picking him up, saddling the Kings with massive recapture penalties
