Wish you were here, Animals will start is about 4 mins. - A_SteamingLombardi
Ummagumma is awesome to
Ever seen the darkside of the rainbow? Pretty cool to watch after a J. |

Probably my favourite albulm - Wish you Were Here. Although it's really hard to choose between so many phenomenal works (including Gilmour's solo stuff) - Zogg
Me too, not a fan of Gilmour's stuff, Water's is the man. |

"If you didn't care what happened to me,
And I didn't care for you,
We would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain
Occasionally glancing up through the rain.
Wondering which of the buggars to blame
And watching for pigs on the wing."

well, according to most people (I believe even from the somewhat flamboyant Waters himself), Waters wrote the entire The Wall albulm; however, from what I've read Gilmour was also a huge part of it (Comfortable Numb being just one of the pieces). Of course it was a cumulative effort - but all I can say is pure genius (and in my opinion Floyd's swan song)
I love both Waters and Gilmour's stuff (his first solo albulm is fantastic) |

Gilmour had 3 writing credits for songs on the Wall, Comfortable Numb started out as 2 different songs 1 by Gilmour and 1 by Waters. |

Just turned it on... did I miss anything?
Was just thinking that Miss Canada pic with the 20-14 score wasn't so unrealistic even if it was the year. |

This game is Shiite.
I like the draft idea but I hate that the game is meaningless. They should go back to the eastern/western dynamic and the leading scorers should be able to draft any player from their conference. The winning conference gets home advantage for the Stanley cup finals. - Gullzy
They should have the All Star event tied in with the draft weekend |

Yes is good too....

"Yes" was my first introduction to 'art rock' (ok, actually it was The Who with Quadrophenia but nothing like YES). Followed by early Genesis, King Crimson, and of course Floyd |

I am very much a product of the 80's but with older sibs, got the 70's exposure and some 60's too...
I went to see ABWH in '89 hoping to hear Owner of a Lonely Heart but went home awestruck after hearing all the Roundabout and earlier stuff. Awesome sounding concert just blew me away.
As per Gilmour, remember The Dream Academy, Life in a Northern Town? That record was produced by Gilmour. There is a song or two from Division Bell that has the former lead singer of Dream Academy accredited/contributing- Nick Laird-Clowes. The relationships and stuff are neat. |

Awesome, I also saw them here in Vancouver ' in the round' and it was amazing. Their instrumentation and overall vocal/vocal harmonies were phenomenal. To hear them do it live was just mind boggling.
It's interesting you mention Dream Academy because I've always enjoyed their couple of albulms (I can definitely hear some Gilmour influences - good call ). I'll definitely have to look into it further -good shoight! |

When I say Genesis, I mean pre-1980 Genesis (when Phil Collins, who is/was the band's drummer *he is a phenomenal drummer, by the way* fully took over the vocals as well and took the band in a totally different and mainstream direction) |

I'm not a big art rock fan as a rule—The Who is my band of choice from that era.
But I loved that first Dream Academy album and the production on Life in a Northern Town. I must have known about Gilmour at the time, but it feels like a new (and highly obscure) bit of information to my brain today.
Thanks!

My oldest brother is 10 years my senior. His bedroom was below mine and he was always playing music down there. The first time I heard Smoke on the Water, I already knew the song from hearing it in my sleep all the time.
It is nice to have the older sibs influencing you to some extent. I turned down so much stuff from them and their friends because I was the perfect youngest brother...
