Thanks Bill for the updates. I look forward to seeing what White can do, if he is called up. I have a feeling that Rinaldo may have played out his future with the Flyers. By the way, didn't he just sign another contract? I really hate these contracts..lol. I think that Jones would be a good line mate for White, if White sticks. Bill do you know anything about Jones' situation, and why he was sent down?
Can't wait for the dog, and pony show to end, and hockey to start up again. Trying to remain optimistic for the rest of the season. However, if they start playing lazy again, I will have to start watching the Cartoon Channel; at least I can laugh a little while watching that.

I saw the exact reason why this game is nothing but a joke while watching highlights. Players just skate around the Dmen and they put 10% at best at trying to stop them. They might as well replace the Dmen with Pylons if this is the result they want. The Pylon might actually break up a scoring chance...

They also need to go back to conference Vs conference. You cant root for a team especially if you have your players on opposite teams.

I never questioned his competitiveness or his willingness to be physical. The fact that DelZotto has a very frail build and is ineffective in attempting to contain bigger, stronger forwards isn't really up for debate. He get's bullied by stronger players, but there's only so much he can do about it. It's how he's built.

Agree to disagree. All I was essentially getting at is that, in the limited NHL games Gus has played, he didn't seem to have as much trouble in his attempts to contain bigger, stronger forwards despite also being a smaller defensemen.

Personally, I don't think Gus has enough NHL tape for us to really know what kind of player he could be at the NHL level (so I could be entirely wrong all together, honestly). I'm merely basing my comparison off of intangibles. The honest reality is they are both smaller, puck moving dmen who will have difficulty with stronger forwards at times at the NHL level.

I don't think Del Zotto gets bullied at all. He gives up size, but is competitive. Gustafsson is a puck moving defenseman who isn't very good at moving the puck. Del Zotto is a much better player.

Bolded points are a culmination of how I feel towards Gus.....

He is what he is, but he was never given a fair crack at the NHL. From 11-12 to 13-14 he only played 155 games of pro hockey, and only 58 at the NHL level. In those 58 games, he was almost always used in a limited role.

That's atrocious player development IMO, varrying contributing factors aside (lock-out, injuries, etc). No matter what way you spin it, Gus never got a fair shot. I think he's a more than capable NHL player and because we have his rights, there's no reason we shouldnt be moderately interested.

- mochoson

Players have to earn a chance. Gustafsson never showed enough to get more playing time. Sometimes the blame should be on the player. Players don't automatically get a larger role, they have to earn it.

I'm loading up shotguns and ammo to make a run to the Acme for milk, eggs and bread.

I just drove down from Warminster to Cape May, all I hit was some drizzle. Has the snowpocalypse begun?

nothing here in philly as of yet. temperature has definitely dropped though in the past few hours.

i know this poop is all relative, and while i dont think it will be anything colossal, i do think it will make commuting the next 2 days a female dog.

They're calling anywhere from 6" to 30". I've heard everything, depending on what channel you watch.

As much as we joke about how the weathermen really have no clue how much will fall...it's definitely gonna fall. And in the city, anything over 4" SUCKS. When you get closer to 10+, then it just cripples everything.

Yep. It'll cost me money, because I'll need the sitter for an extra 5 hours. I suspect school will be closed either Tuesday or Wednesday or both

I go off the NWS Mt Holly site. They're not trumping it up for ratings, they're just a humble bunch of scientists with few cameras on them.

yeah exactly. the regional rails immediately vomit on themselves with anything over a slight dusting.

and just with the timing, it appears it will be quite annoying. Not so problematic yet in the morning to cause cancellation, but once your there all day and just leaving in the evening itll be annoying. and whatever going into tuesday, that's supposed to be the real fun part i hear.

i hadnt heard anything as extreme as thirty, and i typically knock off an inch or two just to the weathermen being dramatic, but still 8 to 10 inches by tuesday afternoon could be a cluster(frank) in the city.

not to be selfish, but however much brine they ooze out onto 95 really doesnt make driving around smaller streets and whatnot any easier.

Depends on which map you look at. Some have us getting a bit less than my Dad's up in Warminster, but other have us getting an extra inch or two.

The chances that I won't be working are slim and none, and Slim's ass is at the bus station
