Dallas will be making a major push for the playoffs after the offseason trades they made. Their ownership group is demanding playoffs / no more mediocrity. Expect them to be big players for Franson and Phaneuf as their Defence is dire need of an overhaul.
They also have the cap room to handle Phaneufs contract or a Franson extension. - PeterIng
Phaneuf and Lupul for Demers, Faksa, Honka + pick? |

to be fair, that would even out the trade - Flyfreaky
We'd need at least a 5th back for it to be even considerable |

What are you laughing at again, since Pens are without Malkin and Crosby?

Vancouver is not in on Kopecky. There will be no rental or veteran players added. - Bieksa#3
Ya I bet. A top team in the west not adding any rentals or vets is beyond hilarious. |

The only way LA could do Yandle is if Richards is off the books.
Yandle is UFA in 18 months and will command 7M+
LA's going to be in cap hell soon (Kopitar is UFA coming up. $9M+) |

Lol man you HockeyBuzz writers are out there...
How have the Panthers fallen off pace? The Panthers are 7 points away from 8th place Bruins while playing 4 less games than those same Bruins.
Lol Green is horrible. I very much doubt that's the one player the the Canes are interested in. Plus if they are interested in Green they'll wait until the offseason to grab him. They have no real reason to give up anything for him during this forgettable season.
Leafs fans are thinking they'll get soooooooo much for Franson. But they won't maybe a 2nd and a mid-level prospect.
Doubt Berglund gets traded this season. Most likely the offseason. The Blues should be bringing back Sobotka in the summer as well. |

Phaneuf and Lupul for Demers, Faksa, Honka + pick? - Unholy_Forward
OMFG are you friggin serious? Man you Leafs fans are unbelievable.
What about Rielly, Kessel, Nylander and a pick for Horcoff and Hemsky That's how laughable your little suggestion is. |

i think they'd rather have lupul - Flyfreaky
Why? They don't need an injury riddled forward like Lupul. They already have one in Hemsky. Plus they had one in Whitney before that. |

Sure they have the space to handle his contract. But there is no way in hell they take on that whole contract. Leafs will have to take on at least $2 mill a year on that contract. |

A Franson extension means he's getting more than 5 million. That's the max they'll pay for Dion? |

Mike Heika of the Dallas morning news, had the following to say of Phaneuf: "Toronto’s captain has six years left on a contract extension that averages $7 million and would require a lot in return, so you have to be sold on the 29-year-old. But he’s a big (6-3, 218) lefty who might be the No. 1 defenceman the team craves." - Sir_Winston
How many hockey games has Mike Heika ever watched?
Shanahan might think he can pull something over on his old Detroit buddy Jim Nill but he will find out differently.
Phaneuf will be a salary dump along the lines of the Bryan Campbell deal. |

Contrary to poluar belief, Phaneuf is not a #3 or 4 D-Man. |

uh no they don't. he's a rental at best right now, a 2nd round pick + decent prospect seems fair. |
