He wants enough roster space to be open to allow a substitute invitation to be extended to Alexander Semin to the ASG so that his signing doesn't look so very heinous?

It's not as bad as it looks, which honestly isn't saying much, but you know.

Maybe it's to protest the sham of a team that Philadelphia has and all the antics they pulled the other day. Or to protest the terrible hockey player Zac Rinaldo is especially when he plays on a team that needs to save their season by goofing it up like they did this week. I find it interested this decision came after that game, and if this a protest, as a fan of the Pens, then good for him.

It's just scary for me after Fleury got a Cam Ward deal. It's got me asking if a long term deal for Michael Frolik is in the works.

Feel free to die on that hill but there's nothing to either of your points.

Difference is that Fleury's contract won't look bad at all in two years.

Oh, I think it will. He'll get his regular season wins for a while, but the playoffs will probably continue to be a more accurate portrait.

still think they do east vs west and the winner gets to start at home for the cup final like they do in baseball. make it a real game. then guys will show up and play hard. also i know for a fact tyler johnson is there this weekend hurt. he was being put back together after every period on tues to keep playing and didnt want to miss a game by not going to the allstar game so hes there because he wants to play.

I think they need to cancel the all star game. It's like if the teachers voted for the smartest kids in school to stay at school during spring break to work on some extra long division.

Steven Stamkos is UFA in 1.5 years (will resign in July)

Malkin is signed at $9.5M

Kane & Toews signed at $10.5M -- but they have cups.

My question is 1) where do you think he'll sign and 2) can you win with players being bigger than a $8.5M+ cap hit? No team has yet

Sorry, but this Habs fan is happy that PK, Patches and Price are not playing in the All Star game. I'd rather my team get a week of rest then risk getting hurt and ruining a season over a stupid all star game that means absolutely nothing!!
- Pigems

Being a fellow Hab fan it amazes me as to how much you know about our team , Price IS GOING every team is represented by at least one player and Carey is representing the Canadiens , and Sekac is playing in the young guns events... C'mon Pal

I didn't know all the Crosby haters care so much about seeing him play .

I think the game should be moved to the weekend after the Cup Finals are over.

Generally not a widely accepted method of being 100% safe, however, it is my personal favorite.

Dear Eklund, and anyone else who wants to criticize Crosby for skipping the game, I have one comment simple comment:

Screw you.

Sid has done just about everything ever asked of him as far as being an ambassador for the game, and yet takes continual criticism on the net about every perceived little thing that he doesn't do perfectly, often from haters and cowards behind fake screen names who would never have the guts to say any of it to his face. On top of that, he take an almost continual amount of abuse from borderline hack 4th liners each and every time he takes the ice, because he plays in a league where it's fashionable and OK to pummel, injure, and impede star players in the name of grit and tenacity. He's often playing hurt, and you don't have one iota of an idea of what might be going on with him.

He's more than fulfilled his responsibilities to the NHL, and as far as those of us in Pittsburgh are concerned, his only responsibility at this point is to himself and the team, to help deliver another cup to the Penguins. The next time one of you worthless sycophants wants him to give you the time of day, I hope he gives you a big middle finger. Good day.

I like the All-Star game, it's a bunch of amazing players (frank)ing around and scoring, it's cool.

The should do some of them outside though, that would fun for the city it's in.
