You can afford to take your kid to the all-star game? |

Ek has a house in Columbus and is just trying to drive up the value so he can catch lightning in a bottle and cash in. |

I don't even know if the charities want a Kia? - Fols19
Kia's are actually pretty nice now. Jokes aside, you could take a little bit more of a rooted interest watching in the game if you know that there is "something" on the line, that something of course being a sizable donation to a worthy cause. |

Who cares who goes to the game! I don't. I won't even watch it, it's a complete farce. On a differnt note, do you have any good rumors for us that never happen ?? |

You absolutely nailed it Ek, Yes the all star game doesn't matter and it isn't played like a normal game but I still love seeing all the best players in the league on one ice surface. I wish they'd go back to the East vs. West format because being from the West coast I always want to see the West win. This is a problem in all sports as athletes are becoming more and more "soft" when it comes to doing their jobs.. Look I get it, it is not easy to be a professional athlete. You have to eat, sleep and live your sport everyday of the week all the time. That is why you get paid a ton of money! You chose this road in life! Don't sit there and complain about petty little things. The players, coaches and even some fans need to stop female doging about the all-star game because you know who still loves it? Kids, the future adult fans. Crosby is one of my favorite players in the league, He trained here in LA during the lockout at the rink I worked at and I got to speak with him many times off the rink and think he is a class act. However as arguably the top ambassador to the game today he should suck it up and show up and play for a period at the least. |

Allstar game is a waste and I do not blame players for not playing. Why should they? You are 40+ games into the season and it is safe to say most players are hurting. Why should they risk injury and hurt their teams playoff chances for an irrelevant game? |

Because you have a responsibility to the fans to be there. The same fans that pay ridiculous amounts of money to watch you to make money for the owners and help pay you ridiculous salary to play a game. |

Been about 10 years since I watched an all star game. Maybe they should make it the same as MLB. The conference that wins gets home game advantage for the cup finals. |

It never is the best players though. Fans vote their players in who don't deserve it and then others are excluded because the league needs 1 player from each team there. A good chunk of the players on the allstar team do not belong there.

I do agree the fan vote should be tossed out. It isn't right when a guy like Rory Fitzpatrick almost makes an all star team |

They don't owe us anything. We pay ridiculous money because WE WANT to watch them play. The allstar game is a joke and the players know it. |

Ek-I'm a big fan of yours and Hockeybuzz, but I've got a bone to pick.
1. Lundqvist was never invited to the All-Star Game.
2. He played all the way to the gold medal game in last year's Olympics.
3. The Rangers went 7 games in rounds 1, 2 and 3 and then to the finals.
As a Ranger fan, I'm relieved that my starting goalie is going to get some more rest and can recharge because I'm hoping they're heading for another big run in the post-season.
Kids want to cheer for their favorite players from their favorite team. Nash will tear it up this weekend. This is his dream all star game. I'm predicting he'll get MVP for the All-Star Game.
Lundqvist not going is non-story. |
