Hypothetically, if the David Legwand was available, would the Rangers have any problem trading him during the off-season (as he would be due $3 million next year as well)? Or, if they took Glass, would we be willing to take on Legwand? Or, what if the Sens were to retain a million of Legwand's salary?
Just trying to think of some additional options, if the Rangers really feel they need a center. To be honest, while it would be nice, I'm not convinced it's a necessity. |

I know the team has been terrible in faceoffs this year (last 3 games aside) but I'm not entirely sold that the team 'needs' a 3C. We have Miller, Hayes, and Moore already in the mix.
We may 'want' a 3C but does the team really 'need' anything? |

Miller struggles at center, Hayes is truly bad at face-offs and in some situations this is key. to me Moore is great at 4c but completely lost as 3c, no offensive upside there at all and kills that line. Which makes the 4th line not as good.
It wouldn't be bad to bolster 3c, shift Hayes to right side and Hagelin on left.

Final game of the regular season brassard sprains his ankle. Out for 3 weeks. Are we still okay? Or are we glad we acquired Vermette? |

Glass will score the double OT game 6 series clinching goal in round 2 of the playoffs against the Islanders to send us to the ECF for the 3rd time in 4 years. Book it. - rangerdanger94
So we are making the second round!?!?!?!?!? |

Yup. As the 2 seed, you eliminate the 3 seed Pittsburgh to advance. |

No good choices, especially this year.
Awesome, we won the number one seed!!! Now we get to play Boston.
I think any team in the Top 8 in the East has a legit shot to win the Conference, which is kind of depressing when thinking about 1st round matchups. |

I don't know. Tough call this year. Hopefully the panthers make a run and we play them |

I think the Bruins and Islanders are the teams I'd least like to play in 1st round.
Both teams will pound the Rangers hard. I'd sign up for Pitt right now |

In past years, I would have said no way on Pitt, but last year's series cleansed me of my Post-Traumatic Pens Disorder.
This goes against logic because of the Rangers record against them this year, but I'm not buying on Tampa come playoff time.

I am at the point where i say frank it. When you try to pick your opponent with seeding, it always back fires. Bring on whoever. When Rangers are on their game, they are pretty dominant. |

yeah I agree, I do fear the Isles and Bruins though just from the style and that Isles 4th line is just hammering anything they see these days |

I prefer Blinky better, as in if you blinked you missed their participation in last year's playoffs. |

I don't want to play the Caps or Bruins. Caps for some reason physically destroy us. I suppose that'll get worse in the PO's. We compete with the Bruins but as you know they'll turn it up a notch or five in the PO's. |

I was actually thinking the Caps would be a bad matchup for the Islanders. The Rangers can contain Ovechkin, I don't think the Islanders can. Especially on the road, the Caps will make sure they put him out against that Islanders 3rd pair on defense as much as they can. |

I can't see Marty hard balling the Rangers for more money. He said he only wants to play in New York. He knows they are right up against the cap. if he wants to win another cup, I can see him finding a team friendly one year deal. |

Yep and we all know how wonderful Capuano is at matching lines. I doubt our teams see each other in the first rd if we both keep playing the way we are. |

Over his last two contracts, MSL has made $54 million dollars. Given the fact that he is near retirement and engineered a trade to the Rangers because he wants to live in the area, I hardly think he is going to be unreasonable on a contract figure. Like you said, I think he sign a fair, team friendly deal which will give the Rangers the best opportunity to win.
For these reasons, I disagree with the sentiment that he will be the odd man out. Unless he wants to go play for the Islanders.

I'd probably jump off the Brooklyn bridge if the islanders sign MSL if we hardball him, resign boychuk, and then sign a solid defenseman like methot in free agency and have a kid like dal colle crack their already deep offense and have a Calder trophy winning season. |
