Glass will score the double OT game 6 series clinching goal in round 2 of the playoffs against the Islanders to send us to the ECF for the 3rd time in 4 years. Book it. |

yeah, there really is no answer to this one - jimbro83
I've got one, Boyle is not a 3rd line center, nor is he fast enough to play this style, he had a great playoff but for $2.0 million I'd pass on him, someone needs to write a piece about the crazy money spent on former Rangers players, Prust, Pouliot, Boyle and dare I say Stralman |

You guys know who a good 3-4 center is with decent size, solid defensively, 9 goals this season, strong on faceoffs, and not much more expensive than Tanner Glass?
Brian Boyle - Maskdman3
i was thinking about that last night... but then i remembered how frustrating he was to watch when he would make a great play, but fail to score the goal. he really is a great player to have come playoff time though. i would happily trade him for Glass right now including the cap hits... Glass was just a huge bust. I have to think AV really lost some power with the Glass signing and how miserable he is. |

what about both of our 2nd rounders instead of a 2nd and a prospect? since we seem to all agree that including Miller, Buchnevich or Duclair would be ridiculous? - jimbro83
Adding Skjei would be absurd as well.
The Rangers need a good face off winning, two way third line center, in order to solidify an already solid lineup. But to start giving away prospects for rentals, and Vermette is a straight rental, the team needs to be very careful in what they offer.
Can't overspend here, the Rangers are setup to be a contender beyond this season. |

On Santorelli, last year the Penguins acquired Marcel Goc for a 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick, once of which is in this year's draft.
I think that is the type of compensation that Toronto should expect to receive for Santorelli. He's a good player, but he's a rental, and he a third liner. I don't see many teams that are going to be willing to pay much more than that.
Dreger was actually mentioning that the Rangers are on Santorelli pretty hard right now on NHL network last night, so I think that is probably the most likely trade target at this point. Although last year, there were all kinds of flirtations between the Leafs and Rangers on Del Zotto and nothing happened between the teams, so who knows if the GMs can get a deal done. - Pete V
Sather generally doesn't get fleeced in trades. I don't mind Santorelli coming here because quite honestly I am not interested in overpaying for Vermette. |

Not for nothing but have won over 50% of the draws in the last 3 games, we know it won't hold up against teams in the playoffs but maybe we won't have to go overboard |

We saw with the Clowe deal that Sather could overpay for a guy like Vermette. I don't see himself pulling a Forsberg for Erat type of deal though. |

That's what I am saying, a Santorelli acquisition would fit this team just fine. There is no need to acquire Vermette if it is going to cost them a good prospect and one of their second round picks.
The Rangers, unlike the Clowe overpayment in 2013, are not as desperate to beef up as they were back then. |

To be fair, that deal looks bad now. When Clowe was healthy, he rounded out the lines. Then he got the concussion and that was the end of that. |

No, I am sure Gorton and Clarke are in his ear when it comes to the younger players in the organization. Miller, Duclair, Buchnevich, Halverson, Skjei, Shestorkin(sp?) and Tambellini--to an extent--should be saved in dealing for a rental. |

He was a risk but I was ok with it when it happened. He actually played well here when he was healthy. But the Devils absolutely ate it when they overpaid for his injury plagued services. |

Isn't Fehr a wing? Regardless I highly doubt the Capitals will trade with a close, standings-wise, division rival. |

Dreger is saying the price for Vermette is a good prospect and a roster player. Yea they should just look elsewhere |

You think Sather wants the do over on that yet? I wouldn't have minded a one year deal, but I think he outbid himself thinking he needed to go 3. |

if they take Glass i think i would definitely trade McIlrath. McIlrath, Glass and say a 3rd or 4th?? if that would get it done, where do i sign? sucks to lose McIlrath, but you get rid of Glass so lose-win... |
