I wouldn't trade Miller for Vermette. I dont' think that trade makes the team better this year or the future. If they do decide to trade Miller, I want something more. I think he has more value. I agree with Larry Brooks's article though. I would give that newly constructed 3rd line of Hagelin-Moore-Miller a legit chance after the all star break. They looked pretty good in the 3rd period last game. - TPC

It was in Brook's article, why I felt i had to comment. No way they should do that deal. I like Miller, hope he stays with the Rangers for the long term. But if every team is asking about him, I could potentially see Sather pulling the trigger if he got the right value back. |

Right, thanks.
With Toronto's annual bad hockey this time of the year, and a strong draft coming up. What do you guys think it'd take to get Santorelli from TOR? For a comparison to Vermette's 2nd + prospect. - Jimboou
hopefully a lot less. I think the Leafs will definitely hold out until the deadline for the very best offer though |

maybe this is the deadline when they pull the plug on McIlrath. I haven't seen it, but I have heard from people that he has been playing a lot better, I think the Wolf Pack overall are playing great lately.
The Rangers defense it set long term for awhile. I think the coming years it's going to be an annual thing to fill the 6th and 7th defensemen slots of cheaply as possible due to the cap.
When it comes to trades though I always think that Sather pulls a move off that nobody expects. |

I am gonna miss John Moore. Still think he can be a good player but its obvious it won't be in New York. |

That's not close to getting it done, someone will give them a 1st and a prospect without a doubt - HankdaTank
Then let them do that, we dont need him that bad. Ill tell you what though i saw the wolfpack play last week and ryan bourque stood out more than anyone on the ice. Phenomenal skater and a good two way player. Dont think we have room for him up here, just food for thought |

I would do that, but to be honest, not sure if AZ would. Lindberg is a fringe NHLer right now. AZ would most likely want a prospect that is basically ready. if they would take McIlrath, 2nd, and a 3rd i would do that.
question though, who would you guys rather trade, McIlrath or Connor Allen? I think McIlrath has the higher ceiling but if he ever gets there is a long shot at this point.
prospects i would not trade: the Duke, Miller(not really a prospect anymore), Buchnevich, either of our new goalies. everyone else i would be ok if they were traded for the right peice. |

im not so sure about that. to be honest, i would love to see the rangers send him down to the AHL to get his confidence up. he really just needs playing time. He has all the physical tools but he keeps making mental mistakes. thats what the AHL is for. too bad he is on a 1 way contract... |

TBH, I wouldnt mind sending one of our new goalies to AZ. I know that might not be a popular opinion, but we have Hank for a while, Talbot right behind him, and then 2 youngins? Why not use one of them as trade bait? Pair it with one of Lindburg, Kristo, Allen, Bourque, McIlrath (although I'd still like to keep him around for a shot at the 6th or 7th dman spot next year). Save our picks, which is unlikely, but at the very least trade a 5th for a 6th or a 4th for a 5th. This would allow us to keep our high prospects, sell a mid-high prospect we don't really want to give up, and sell one we don't mind (whom is close to NHL ready). Seems like a win-win situation |

I think it might be risky to send one of the goalies because they are still so young and raw. No guarantee one or either of them pan out. I would rather wait to see how they develop before doing anything with them. I would hate to trade the one who turns out to be the next Ranger long term goalie. |

I'm also curious to know what it would take to get Bozak. Never been a big fan of his, but then again he's been playing on such a bad TOR team his whole career. Pots 10+ every season, good play maker, great in the dots. Only downside is his defensive coverage is average. But AV has proved he is able to aid that with his system. That would be a huge addition, but it probably would cost us an arm and a leg (which I'm not about) |

Yea I'm with you on that I suppose. But if they come asking about them, they're not untouchable, right? |

He's always played with kessel. Definitely inflates his stats a bit. Makes too much money for too much term imo. |

John Moore should stay. Gotta remember Boyle is done soon. Moore and Allen would still round out the 6 behind G, McD, Staal, Klein.
I'd move McIlrath by the deadline, its obvious he has no place on this team anymore. G, Staal, Klein are all more of the defensive dmen each with offensive ability. And Skjei in the ranks. I'd say if we are going for a C like Vermette, Lindberg would be the first name to bring up. Maybe Ryan Bourque too?
I agree completely Jan, Stepan's play was pass all the way. He wouldn't have spun around like that if he was thinking shoot, would've got the shot off faster and harder if he just skated into it. The spin move was to create the passing lane. Also, he kept the puck completely along the ice for Hags. If it was a shot, he probably would have tried to lift it, even just a bit. |

Don't tell anyone, but I'm an undercover Kreider lover too. Played against him in the Chowder Pot a whiles back, one of the nicest kids I ever met on the ice. Then he lived in the same building as my buddy at BC, so I got his BC jersey. Then he came to NY, and I got his NY jersey. You know the people that followed Favre everywhere he went? Yea that might be me for CK - NashtyLight
