Here is why I care. I'd rather teams make hockey decisions, rather then cap decisions. I seriously doubt that the Kings would have waived and demoted Richards, if there wasn't a cap issue. Nothing to do with pity for Richards.
Even with the Cap, there is still a wide range of salary spending between teams. In some cases the cap is causing some teams to spend more then they want to. And it's been proven, if you look at my hometown team, the Flyers, that spending the most money doesn't guarantee a team anything.
The idea that the cap increases parity, is really a farce. It's about limiting players salaries, and nothing more.

You might think the Cap has created a better league, I don't think so.
