I don't hate Petry, but Pete may have a point here...

I mean, I know he plays for the Oilers, but -62 in a 282 game career is... not good.

yeah, their drafting system work, no doubt
- stinger67

Their biggest strentgh is their development system IMO. They turn talented players into complete players.

They also draft specific skillsets that they develop.

Out of curiosity, when was the last season the Oilers had a positive goal differential?

They're one of those teams where not one individual can be evaluated properly imho.

Given how big of a mess they have been for so long.

I agree. When the team has spent 10 years giving up more goals than it scores, evaluating a particular player's +/- is a bit of an exercise in futility.

Sure, but while +/- is an admittedly terrible stat, when it's THAT pronounced it has to mean something.

He's 271st in +/- among defensemen (Only Gorges and Ristolainen are worse)

92nd in blocked shots.

He's 10TH in the league in giveaways.

That's a lot.

Guys, it was a rumour started by rick Moffat... no need to argue over something a guy who can't put together two coherent sentences in a row says.

How come they don't fine people for throwing hats on the ice for the once a decade hattrick that happens? You can't change the rules for littering the ice depending on if it's for a good thing or bad.

What if he was on the Habs. You think it would be that bad? When a team is playing well, the +/- blows up. (frank), #3 was a +17 or so at one point in December.
