I can't see the Sharks trading away all the assets it'd cost, furthermore we just drafted Fredrik Bergvik in 2013 they're pretty high on him.

Whoever the Sharks go after inthe offseason it'll be someone who has some experience to go along with Stalock IMO.

- SJSharks39

Bergvik is not on the same level of prospects as Vasilevskiy... I hope he pans out as well, but he's a much longer shot (& a lot farther from being NHL starter ready).

I get what you're saying though, & agree that it would probably take a lot to grab him... but I think it's worth a phone call from Wilson. Heck, who knows what the price would be, I never thought Thornton would be traded for who he was traded for.

As far as picking up a goalie in the offseason... I just don't know which goalie you could be talking about who has experience and would play with Stalock? Josh Harding? Viktor Fasth? Neither are upgrades over Nemo. Also, if they wanted someone with experience to come alongside Stalock as he takes over starter... I can't imagine why they have him sitting most games this year in favour of Nemo. Coaching & management seem to have put their chips behind Nemo, not Stalock.

I want to love Stalock like so many of you do, but I really don't see him as ever becoming an elite goalie in this league. I see him hitting his max potential as a good back-up. I don't know why, but he reminds me of Brian Boucher.

Not to be a downer but I think we are more than 2-3 rentals away from being a contender anyway. We don't really have many vets we can trade and DW certainly won't be giving away a pick or prospect to acquire help. As much as it is great to say "our roster would be better if we added this player for nothing", I just don't see it being too realistic at this point. Not to say he won't make a move around the deadline because he usually does. But if he does make a trade it will probably be one of our current roster players for a younger roster player / prospect.

The thing is (and DW knows this) if he goes all in again and fails again he will for sure get fired. But if he says "this is a multi season process" and shows it by not going all in this season, he will likely be given the opportunity to stick around 2-3 more seasons.

That depends on what's available also, should always look to improve your team for today & tomorrow, just takes some creativity that's all.

Doug Wilson ain't going nowhere, i know alot of you want him gone. When Doug Wilson ain't the GM anymore it's b/c he'll be the President of hockey operations.

You only go all in when your on the cusp of a cup cause that would imply trading away 1st & 2nd rd picks.

I like DW. I think we should keep him and get a new coach. I have thought that since a few minutes after McLellan was hired

Right no denying Wilson & his drafting, he's very good at it. He just never can get the right bottom 6, loves those plugs too much.

Yeah you'd have to figure the only way Mclellan comes back next year is if we win the Cup.

Agree 100% With that & your right doesn't hurt to ask.......Closed mouths don't get fed.

Yeah as far as the goalie situation next year, it's a tough spot that's for sure. Cam Ward probably be the best goalie available, then it's just pick your poison after that.

Our AHL team Worcester will be moving to S.J. after this season playing their games at the tank.

Might be traded:
Wingels (Best trade piece with the emergence of Karlsson.)
McGinn (No value.)
Goodrow (Does Goodrow really have value in the trade market!?)

- Sharks_12

I think this is more like the list, honestly. The rest of the people are UFAs after this seasons, and we're not going to trade anyone off the team this season. We're too thin already. If we do move them we'll only get a pick which won't be used until after the season too.

This will be good as long as it's temporary. Sounds to me like they're still trying to iron out a western division/conference for the AHL. I'll be interested in following this!

Playing at the Shark tank? Then yeah i'd agree, it'll be nice having the AHL team inthe same time zone now, make shuffling players to & from quite simple.

Found this:

For the record, San Jose was wearing its white jerseys because the Kings plan on wearing their special white jerseys from the outdoor game when the teams meet in Los Angeles on April 11. The Sharks will wear their black jerseys that night and this was the tradeoff.
