You definately got the D. I would agree your assessment. But when you got a Goalie like Price, everything is possible.
- soad_live

Price and Pekka are for sure the top two goalies in the league and I believe they both should be looked at for the Hart. But I think with Pekka in net, the Preds are too good for the Habs.

I certainly agree. I wouldn't trade Pekka for Price and if I had price I probably wouldn't trade him for Pekka.

Preds D is much better than the Habs, that's where I see a difference between both teams

Completely agree. Preds D is arguably the best in the league. Ekholm and Josi are both fantastic defenseman most people have never heard of (More so Ekholm)

Offense wise, I think the Preds are still pretty weak, they have been getting it done but I think they will need at least one more goal scorer come playoff time.

they need a goal scorer...but someone who doesn't shy from the physical game as the west is much more physical than the east

True. I think your opinion would be different if the call went the other way and the Preds won. But never the less you're right. That being said I will take out that I feel like the Preds would certainly beat the Habs in a 7 game series and that's good because the Habs are one of the best in the east.

You gotta be kidding me? Oh yeah nashville will be a playoff powerhouse with big bad mike ribeiro as the number one center and a rookie on his wing.

Nashville has solid defense and a goalie, yes, with no playoff experience though.

I'd be shocked if preds won 3 playoff games.

"Certainly" beat the Habs in a playoff series. Yeah tell that to the big bad Bruins of last year... Who are miles ahead of the preds when it comes to playoffs. I understand you guys are new to hockey but playoffs are entirely different animal.

Certain of a playoff defeat after dominating 2 periods on a hab off night? Hahah that's a good one. When it came to crunch time, the Habs were all over you guys in the 3rd. That was playoff hockey

Nashville has D with playoff experience. And Pekka has played very well in several playoff series. Sure, Nashville doesn't have the cup success the Kings have enjoyed in the past few years. But that doesn't mean the Preds are a bunch of bumpkins unfamiliar with playoff hockey. As if playing the Habs was somehow too big a stage for the Preds. Please. This team plays in the Central Division with multiple games against Blues & Blackhawks. Go back to the kids table.

Preds dominated more than half the game, if not for Price, this game was over in the 1st, the Habs effort in the 3rd would have been a waste of time.

Lmao. I know your team won the cup last year, but that doesn't suddenly make LA a hockey town or you an expert on hockey.

James Neal has no playoff experience right? Weber? Rinne?

And you can rip Ribs all you want for his past but he is playing ridiculously well right now. You worry about if the Kings are going to be able to edge out Calgary first.

I know what I saw. But that's it. Carey Price is that good, and he will be that good in the playoffs again.

But you see that games as well as I do, the Habs arent near as bad as they looked in the first 2 periods. The Habs are more like they were in the 3rd.

Nashville is a very good team. I'm just talking to the guy who is "certain" that Nashville will be the Habs in a 7 game series. Ask the Bruins of last year.

You do realize we have a decent goalie who wasn't playing last night, right?

Seriously go troll somewhere else. I am not buying any of your arguments.

By the way "Big Bad Mike Ribeiro" and "The Rookie" would be 1 and 2 in points on your team. Not to mention Wilson, Weber, Josi and Neal would all be in your top 6.

Meanwhile, you have Richards making $6 mil a year from now to eternity and playing less than 9 minutes a game.

Go worry about your terrible contracts, your declining goalie, your weak defense (without Voynov), and how you are going to sign Williams, Stoll, not to mention Pearson and Toffoli (who are RFA but certainly due for a raise) and we will worry about being surprised if the Preds can win three playoff games.

I'm still a little confused on getting rid of Derek Roy? He seems to be tearing it up for the Oilers. While I know he isn't a first or second line for us, he does provide depth and great skills in the shoot out dept.

Well we can all be certain that Nashville won't win 3 games against Los Angeles.

Because they're not even in the Top 8.

Roy wasn't good enough to crack our Top 6 and too good to play with our Bottom 6.

For $1 mil I woulda kept him as depth or delt him at the deadline for at least a low end prospect

Thank you for illustrating my point. Montreal is one of the least penalized teams in the league. This game was not in Nashville, so Nashville's home PP or PK stats really don't apply.

In the end, anyone with two functioning eyes could see that a couple of blatant calls were missed by the Referees in the 3rd period. Further - any respectable hockey fan would admit that the OT penalty against Craig Smith was ridiculous. Just because a player falls down in his own zone does not mean that a penalty has occurred.

Either way, I think the game ended up probably how it was destined to end up. The Preds outskated the Habs on the balance, and Price outplayed Hutton on the balance. OT game - nod to the Habs.

- holycow_75

Watch Smith's feet on the penalty, he stops skating and actually pushes out on both skates as he reaches over Eller's stick. Even if Eller goes down easier because he's off balance doesn't mean you can do that. He doesn't stop skating and there's no call.

Watch Smith talking to Eller after the penalty call and Eller laughing. He knew that was a b.s. call.

you're a moron dude lol You seem to have forgotten so easily that the preds made the playoffs in 07,08, 10,11,& 2012. Those teams they were icing when they made all those playoffs series were nothing compared to the team they have now. This preds team is SCARY and anyone who says they aren't doesn't have any hockey sense/ knowledge. Don't be mad cuz the kings are sitting out of a playoff spot currently and the preds are sitting top of the nhl's toughest division.
