You know looking at avatar there is a fair amount of irony calling people out on their helmets.

I thought the physical pushback was good... They pushed back, but didn't go bananas or take themselves out of power plays or whatever. There was more composure than Pens teams of the past.

Problem is that when teams take shots at you and give you power plays, you need to convert. It should have been like 3-1 after the first period last night.

I'm indifferent to Sutter in general, but he was bad last night. Arcobello was more noticeable than Sutter.

I have been really impressed with Perron. His defensive game is better than I thought it would be. Very smart, and is good at anticipating plays.

Mike Johnston made some very poor personnel decisions last night...

You know what's funny... Everybody was calling out Gunner yesterday for his blog about Goc, but Sutter has been a virtual ghost for weeks.

Love Perron too. They've got to extend him. Dude can play. We give Ray Shero a bunch of credit for the Neal trade, but I'd say the Perron deal is pretty damn close.

I have a helmet...yes I do. It's made of impenetrable foil with a spike on top. The spike is for spiking people, that's why I have it.

Which is it? Are the Flyers "still" playing "goon hockey" or are they getting "softer and softer every year?" Can't have it both ways.

Most Flyers fan actually want a shift AWAY from players like Rinaldo and want to embrace a youth movement based on speed and skill. But I guess that's not the cool narrative.

By the way, I love how the Penguins never had "goons" or "dirty players" like Ulf Samuelsson, Troy Loney, Matthew Barnaby, George Laraque, Paul Baxter, Darius Kasparitis, Bob Boughner, Krystof Oliwa...

other than rinaldo, this current flyers squad is actually really pretty relaxed. theyve had a larger share of gentlemen of the sport than theyve had straight scumbags.

If you ask politely, their captain will even give you a two handed butt massage instead of a two handed slash. Very gentleman like of him....

Yuck.
That line up is just terrible right now.
A couple more weeks and we should hopefully be rolling again.

I'll take eleventh place in late January with a coaching change, for a last minute save in game seven again, please.

Spalling shouldn't be playing top6 minutes whatsoever. He is clearly a bottom 6 player. I actually wouldn't mind parting ways with him. Only way pens are boosting their top6 again this year is by trading Martin or Ehrhoff, which the club has no balls to do.

Martin would easily net us a top6 or 1st rd pick. Ehrhoff would get us around the same give or take...

Honestly, this game is like the last minute of the 2nd period up by a couple but with the opponent pressing. They're going through the motions. Happened before the Christmas break, too.

We dont need to boost our top six. in 2-3 weeks Hornqvist and Comeau are back. Thats our top six boost.
Hornqvist Crosby Perron
Kunitz Malkin Comeau
Is one of the best top six in the league, what more do people here want?

Those 2 returning makes our bottom six much better too.
Bennett Sutter Downie
Spaling Goc Adams

Ill take that too.

Just heard McKenzie say Cody Franson would net a ton in return for leafs. I almost spit my drink out when i heard that. Point is, our d-men: Martin & Ehrhoff would get a hell of a lot more than that overrated bum franson would.

All 3 of them need to go. Just a horrible 4th line.

That's actually a really solid 4th line, especially considering it's 4 of the primary penalty killers.
