That was a great redirection. Pretty goal.

I doubt his scoring run is sustainable(shooting like 43% over the past few weeks) but he's been a solid player for the Flyers

- Jsaquella

totally not sustainable but clearly the guy has been working on poop... good for him

Yup. Any goals from those guys are gravy. But it looks like they have some good chemistry and above average 4th line talent.

ive thought PEB has been a pretty decent depth find all season.

Agreed. And he looks like he's a bit more comfortable out there as well, finding his stride in the NHL.

I didn't intend to hurt Kris tonight. I'm very sorry I did. At no point did I ever "joke" about such a thing. These reports are untrue.

Anyhow, I guess his agent got a hold of him and told him just how bad his comments after the game were and now he's doing DC

I am thinking that Rinaldo may have played his last season as a Flyer. He can complain all he wants about unfair treatment but every game he does something stupid and puts his team in a bad situation and the Management hopefully has had enough of his antics. There was a point last year when he was half effective but this year is a train wreck, which leads me to believe he will not change.
BTW I loved seeing Downie get hammered on!!

The only time he was every effective was during the lockout shortened season, 2013. Even then, he was effective not because he stayed out of the box, but because he was drawing more penalties than he took.

Cannot 'unsay' what you said. Must of got caught up in all the excitement of the win & said what he thought until someone could give him instructions

Disgrace. Problem is if he is made an example of due to the who har - it will actually be unfair to the grub because of other incidents like this that have gone by & by.

Can he in his own defence bring up previous hits that players have made that are similar & not been sanctioned or is it a case by case with no references allowed?

I don't care how hard Rinaldo works and how hard he says he wants to improve, he's an idiot. He's not a NHL caliber player, he's unable to control himself and quite frankly his idiotic comments after the game, joking or not, will do little to reduce the giant bullseye he's painted on his own back.

He's an embarrassment.

- Jsaquella

This! His comments are an embarrassment to the organization. Keep your mouth shut. I hope they waive him ASAP. Can you waive a suspended player?

As for the game, really happy for the fans at the game. Best game of the year. Very entertaining. Does make you wonder why the boys can only bring it against PIT though. Even the tank nation folks must be happy with this one.

What a joke. Taking credit and saying who knows what would have happened if I didn't do this. Don't flatter your self Rinaldo. If anything you put our team in a horrible position w 5 min PK and the team took care of it themselves as you sat in the locker room alone.

Last night was the most heart and emotion I've seen our team have all season. That was true flyers hockey. Something I feel we haven't seen in quite some time. We truly competed as a team and fought for one another. I mean we embarrassed them in the fights and didn't back down from any challenge. We truly know how to get into the pens head. Hopefully this momentum doesn't cool off with all star break, but in all honesty if the flyers lose rest of season, Im ok with it, only if we beat the pens the two other times. Last night win was satisfying and what we all needed

Was it a bad hit. Yes.
Dirty? I don't know.

I actually thought he got him in the back of the shoulder and Letang turning into the boards made it worse. I am not saying he should have made the hit but also that hit happens more then we think. The player doesn't turn and nothing happens. The responsibility is on Rinaldo to use better judgement on his hits but also this is a 6th round pick who was drafted because of the edge he plays on. So in that sense I understand why sometimes he goes over.

If as Flyers fans you want him jettisoned I can understand. I understand his short comings. But i do also see positives he brings. I do see how games when he is out there seems to be a lack of energy.

Yes the Flyers can probably survive without him. I know energy isn't this great skill to take over a game. But it is a momentum swinger. In a game with contact it takes one solid hit or fight that can make building or team errupt.

I think with his history he stands a good chance of getting 10+ games and I don't think that is bad thing for the Flyers, assuming Laughton is ready to come back. I don't like the hit at all. The incredible thing is that the Flyers killed off the 5 minute penalty. On a normal night that has been 2 goals for the opponent.

Zac Rinaldo will have an in-person hearing with the NHL, team source says.

Five or more for Mr Rinaldo, probably going to be out until at least February 10th

- Jsaquella

It was only a matter of time before Rino went off the rails again. I don't think he'll be missed that much in the lineup. Also, I can see him getting an extra game for his comments that show zero remorse.

Really liked Manning's play last night. I'd keep him up for a bit to see what we really have with him and whether or not we want to re sign him.

I don't think he will be missed at all. How effective is the "fire" does he bring & how does it "fire" up the team? Very little. Whatever positives he brings-and there's a couple- are outweighed and negated by the negatives.

Has there been any update on Laughton? There's another week before we're back at it, so I hope maybe he's recovered by then.

I wonder if his idiotic comments after the game played a role in the speed in which the DoPS decided to act.
- Jsaquella

Doubt it. It was a 5 minute boarding major, automatically reviewed, and an easy suspension.

That's not true, he's been an effective player at times this year. If Rinaldo wants to be labeled as a player who at times is reckless and undisciplined, even at time just plain dumb, I get that. Saying he is not an NHL player, and doesn't have any skill is simply false. Somehow the metric of penalties drawn and taken became the only way to judge Rinaldo.
