Is is just me or dont we have a very cheap, 2 way center that wins a lot of his draws??? Mueller... I thought he played pretty well when he was up and can play wing... he is exactly what we need. a player that costs nothing, is a good FO guy and can move to wing after FOs... why not give him another try?
- richardson30

I was thinking this earlier just not sure if he's an everyday guy, did win 60% of his draws while up

What Canada needs is more money. How about some of that internet money.

- Pete V

no we gots money, just the price drop in Oil has hurt us and since the States were our biggest consumer of Oil, you guys have stopped buying it which has hurt us.

Economist are predicting a 6-8month window as a drop in the Dollar and Oil prices, should ramp back up after that

The Canadian dollar is trading around 82 cents today. Next year's NHL salary cap could end up at $71M if it stays this low.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

- jimbro83

Also have to factor in the NHL concussion lawsuit. if that settles before next season the cap will surely not be as high as expected.

I think we need to be a little bit careful of focusing too much on bringing in a guy that can win draws. It is definitely a need, but I want a guy that can fit as whole -- i.e., he also has to play well in the system once he wins the draws.

Find me a guy that can play, who also has a good face off percentage, and I'm all in.

not sure who you would substitute him for though... Miller has played well of late and AV is in love with Fast so I dont see a spot.. maybe Stemp? I would rather have Stemp in though over Fast as that 4th line has looked really good with Stemp Moore and Miller. pretty sure Mueller had some finishing skill so he might give the Hayes line a decent finisher as well.

It was a South Park reference.

I have to say, however, I'm loving the $2 per gallon gas with my too big SUVs. But, understand that the North American oil industry is taking a beating.

I know my Jeep is loving it too.
But with the Salary cap, wait till the Vegas Franchise comes in, that will shoot the cap up bc of Revenue.

As Maloney's final act he needs to trade us one of Vermette or Hanzal and eat some of that money, might as well have a part in winning the Cup even if it's not your own team

I think they want someone with a little more NHL proven experience than Mueller.

As it stands right now, I'd be pissed with $2/gallon haha. Paying a whopping $1.80

I am not so sure about that. Miller was one of the nine forwards in rotation last night when Vigneault shortened the bench.

Does FLA have any good centers we might be able to snag? They're the only team close to being in the dance that isn't currently in it. I see them being a great trading partner this deadline.

There is a good working relationship with Arizona and NY. Maloney will be willing to work with the Rangers and, aside from OEL, I really don't see any other player Arizona will play hardball to keep. For the right price I am sure 99% of the Coyotes roster is available.

Florida is loaded at center, but with a bunch of young guys (who they wouldn't trade), or good prospects who wouldn't help immediately (or be a better option than Hayes).

I kind of wish the Rangers have Matthieu Perrault a look last summer. I think he would have been a real good fit, and at a reasonable salary.

The Rangers are going to be in on affordable veteran centers. Florida has a bunch of overpaid veterans and good young players they don't want to part with.

I think it will be tough to work with Florida unless they are willing to eat salary on the player they trade.

Perrault is a good, reliable hockey player. Makes that Glass signing look really horrible when a player like Perrault could have been had for not much more than what he got from NY.

Perrleaut makes double what glass makes. Not defending glass anymore. That ship has sailed. But yea.

Without Cap Geek this is the best you have to find Centers, maybe Jay McClement as a cheap upgrade, his Faceoffs look good at 55.4

Don't sign Mueller, Tarnasky and Glass.

Problem solved.

None of these players are significant factors with the team. A guy like Perrault is a perfect third line center type. I am glad they got Hayes but Hayes has proven to be overwhelmed in the face off circles. If he can be moved to wing, with the team having a credible face off center in his place, the team would look so strong.

McClement is nothing more than a fourth line checking center. I think the Rangers want to acquire a good face off man that can produce offensively, somewhat.
