Once a cheater always a cheater.

Ugh, and you know they'll get away with it. Not that they needed to cheat to win, anyway. Colts barely got off their bus. Go Seahawks.

His version of All along the watchtower is descent

side note, you stay away too long

post more

Thanks again. I'm a bit of a night owl and I stay away from crazy exchanges about Nolan, Darcy, or anything that isn't worth the effort. But with the season over half done, and our direction clear, I plan on pitching in to the conversation more often.

I can't say I'm expecting big moves at the deadline...
But u make a good point about moving prospects before we have to... I don't necessarily think that has to wait either. Murray could def make a McNabb for Fasching type move at any time
Maybe he throws in a prospect with a guy like Stafford or Stewart in order to get a bigger return
That's my hope anyways

- jdfitz77

Yep, a moderately high prospect can be a hell of a sweetener, or, to some GMs a focal point of a deal. Just to throw an example out off the top of my head, if one of 29 GMs absolutely love JT Compher, he and Staff or Stew might land you a very nice young NHLer. That GM would feel he's hedging his bets, picking up a guy for the now and a good gamble for the future too.
I'm hoping I'm right to see Murray as a guy who's ready willing and able to wheel and deal.

This.

F the Pats before all this, and majorly F the Pats now.

They should suspend Belichick for the super bowl and take away their 1st rd. pick.

I hate them 20% more than normal because they're making me root for Pete Carroll and their phony-baloney 12th man, too.

Ya, it would be great to see some deals like that
Teams in cap trouble with young guys that are due big raises like LA might be willing to make that kind of deal

Its time to see Murray start exploiting the situations some of these teams are in

It didn't start in Buffalo either
I believe it was Texas a&m who first started calling their fans the "12th man"

Tarasenko?
LA seems to have VERY nice youngsters, but sometimes you must beware the inflated stats of the guys on a loaded team. Like the guys who left the Blackhawks Cup teams. Think of what we could've gotten for Vanek or Roy after 05-06.
That being said, I'd roll the dice on any of those young guns on the Kings.

I didn't know that but I believe you. But even when the 12th man was "ours", it wasn't mentioned twice every drive down the field. It gets ponderous.

Bc this is coming to light right before the Super Bowl, and to a degree tainting it
I could really see the NFL come down hard on the Pats
Plus, this isn't the first time they've been caught

We'd have to give up quite a bit still to get Tarasenko...
I doubt they'd move him
I think there's teams out there we could take advantage of though

I forgot who I was talking to about offer sheeting Tarasenko. An 6.7-8M/year offer not matched loses us 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. I could live with that. Big Question is what amount is too much for STL? If they match, no loss to us.

True. Their stadium doesn't look to fun to play in. Vet team like GBay absolutely melted down in there. That, and football has an enormous amount of down time, in which announcers have to fill up with mostly drivel.

Yep.

Let's see if Goodell has the stones to make an example out of them.

Kraft may have some clout in league circles, but there are 31 other owners who may send in the brute squad on Goodell if he doesn't act accordngly.

Good pull right there. Glad I have a 9 year old niece who gave me an excuse to watch this movie again.

It's one of those movies for me, along with Shawshank, Rocky, Goodfellas, and any of the Indiana Jones and first 3 Star Wars movies that if I'm flipping through and they're on, I have to watch.

We're prob still a pretty bad team next year
I'd wait one more off season before I offer sheet someone
I can't really imagine there's a number StL wouldn't match. He's a guy they are gonna build around.
There's always gonna be guys to target. But remember, that player also has to wanna leave and sign here as well. Buffalo is still probably a tough sell to a lot of NHLers. Once we start to show improvement I think we'll be looked at more highly

Ya, football announcing is pretty repetitive in nature. I remember when Dixon played significantly for the 1st time. I'm pretty sure I heard them say "boobie" every time he touched the ball. It was obnoxious

Great movie.
I think they'll get hit hard, but prob not till after the super bowl.... I doubt the NFL would want further distraction

Money talks, but this is also a very real concern if we were offer sheet someone. Hopefully our league-wide perception is beginning and continues to change for the better.

Its definitely starting to with the Harbor Center & all the cool stuff happening downtown...
Playing with a talent like McDavid/Eichel will be appealing as well
We're certainly on the right path, but I think we have a ways to go still
Once we start to improve our play on the ice, then I think we'll really see the Sabres become more of a destination
