Flyers don't play like that every night and that's there problem, Yotes start a fire sale and it could get real close with them and the Sabres.
- SABRES 89

Ya, I think the yotes & devils are gonna have a fire sale
Philly, even if they trade some defensemen will still win enough games just bc of their forwards. I'd be shocked if they end up picking top5

They can spiral all they want, the Sabres are not good enough to make up 11 points.
- Pierceme69

Not to mention the Sabres are going to have their own enema and cleanse them self of Stafford, Stewart, one of the goalies and who knows who else.

Just for a frame of reference, both teams have 35 games left. If The Devils played a wretched 10-25 the Sabres would need to win 16 games to pass them. I think they will be lucky to win 10.

Do you think TM is consulting Craig Patrick much? Haven't heard his name mentioned much in boards/Buffalo News since he came aboard. Just wondering if that's a relationship that will go by the wayside in the offseason if it's already gone that way in reality.
- Firebrand

Good question.
I haven't heard a peep from Patrick since the announcement. I'm not sure how involved he really is

And if they did they would get 51 pts, the same as last year. Last year at this time they had 33 pts, now they have 31.

Ya, I hear ya. But we do have the ability to go on a couple winning streaks if we get good goaltending...
I don't really expect that to happen again, but its possible. I don't see us going 10-3 again... But we could have a couple stretches where we go 5-5

Sabres' eye-popping goal differential suggests to me than we will be very tough to get beneath. Can't score, can't stop goals, bad PP, giving up SHGs, and this is before we drop vets at the trade deadline? I wouldn't trade our position for any other team's.

At the end of March they play their 2 games with the Yotes. Those games are going to be critical I think.

My buddy said the Oilers are willing to move their top pick this year for players that will help now...
Anyone else hearing this?
Very surprising to me. If they pick top2 I'd be shocked, although they'd get a HUGE return for sure

Stakes are most definitely high. The only way to be sure is to lock down 30th...then most likely, be ok with Eichel as the payoff. But I'm interested to see what happens with our next three picks. Packaged to move up? Traded for prospects/young nhl talent? Or, like last year, sit tight (not that Murray wanted to) and pick our guys. Gonna be fun to speculate and even more fun to see what really happens. A REAL test for our GMTM.

I could not picture their top pick being available, especially before they know where they'll end up, but the Pitt 1st is certainly in play.

Agreed. This should be a very interesting off season
Trade deadline might get fun too

I'm not expecting too much from the TD because we don't have a real difference making vet who will obviously be on the move, but I'm very willing to be surprised. Draft day might be another story, with more teams coming to the bargaining table. We seem to have a glut of nice-looking young prospects with only a finite number of pro contracts to go around. I hope decisions are made while we are have the leverage and not wait until we HAVE to offload up and coming youngsters.

He has done a very solid job for the Oil, and they got him for very little. I support this kind of move for them. I wish them both much success.

Hey thanks! I truly dig this record and spin it all the time. Recently acquired The Key is Love, but is nowhere near as compelling. But he wore the same sweet turtle neck for both album covers, which is nice.

Patriots guilty of under inflated balls, 11 out of 12 balls were under inflated.

I can't say I'm expecting big moves at the deadline...
But u make a good point about moving prospects before we have to... I don't necessarily think that has to wait either. Murray could def make a McNabb for Fasching type move at any time
Maybe he throws in a prospect with a guy like Stafford or Stewart in order to get a bigger return
That's my hope anyways
