Canadian Dollar down to $.81 per $1 US.

What does that mean for the cap.

On the bright side, it got rid of target

But seriously I wonder if it may be time to consider a scenario where the cap goes down as oppose to up by 1 or 2 mil or even staying the same.

Bad news if you're a Hawks or Bruins fan.

I would like to move up to try and get Crouse. He is one of the younger guys in the draft. Think our late two firsts could get us back in the top 10? If not how about a late 1st and an early 2nd to move up to about 15th and get Carlo. He is a big, good skating defenseman with a good offensive side.

For now, yes.

But if it continues to stall we could wind up facing similar problems when we decide to go for it.

Cody Hodgson has registered just two goals and seven points in 46 games this season.

He has been bumped out of Buffalo's top-six forward group and he's logged well under 10 minutes of ice time in his past two outings. Last season, Hodgson ranked second on the Sabres with 20 goals and he led the team with 44 points in 72 games. Perhaps, he can salvage something in the second half, but right now he isn't worth rostering.

Coho is exactly what was wrong the past past ten years under Darcy. Once he got paid, he became a micro-fraction of what he was. Aside from Pommer and Ennis, I can't think of any sabre that once they got a huge pay raise, they continued or took their game to another level.

One part lack of drive.
One part lack of heart.
One part lack of desire.

It's a young man's game and if you do not have speed or desire you will not excel. The biggest flaw in Darcy was deciding who had the drive to continue moving forward vs who was there for a paycheck.

Can Coho be salvaged? I do not know. It starts with linemates to mask his flaws. A speedy player like Ennis has to be on his line. A hard working point producer like (player we do not have) has to be on his line.

I doubt Coho will be in the NHL in 4 years.

Once he got paid, he got complacent, welcome to my Sabres nightmare.

It's hard to argue with this, except he played as well as anyone on the team last year, after he got the contract renegotiated. He went back to Kevin Adams place this summer and put in the work again, from all accounts.

I wonder if he isn't just lost in Nolan's un-system.

My bigest gripe is how often a goal scorer is rarely in a goal scoring positon, its like he forgot where to go on the ice.
