No way that warrants them not being able to play in the superbowl. The patriots will always be remembered for this and spygate. They have a tainted legacy.

Worst part is they didn't even need to do this to win.

Well, one reason, as Garth astutely pointed out, could be to get the edge on dealing out rentals before any other tank team starts to deal them. Striking the market first means there is more demand, and you could even likely squeeze out a few more ounces of value by giving the team these UFAs go to extra time to assimilate. What we draw back, based on Murray's "give me two drafts" theory will be 19 y/o juniors, 20-21 y/o NCAA players, a talented AHL player who can realistically grow into the NHL (Jarnkrok for example) or first and seconds for 2015.

Bringing in any of these types of assets will in all likeliness not ruin our tank.

There is a great deal of score board watching tonight from within the organization, and not just those teams jockeying for position with Buffalo's pick. There is a great deal watching those teams currently with 50 points or above, and they are watching the St. Louis and New York Islanders positioning in that league standings bracket.

It will continue until the end of the season, under stand that. Until the end of the season. In other words, don't expect either of those 1st rd picks to move at the deadline.

I would go as far to say that unless a true gamebreaking wing was coming back, I would not be including any of the 1st round picks in a trade.

I could not imagine them dealing either the Blues or Islanders 1st round pick until after the playoffs are completed.

things like this happen in every sport. If you need to slow the game down all teams knwo how to do it. Just like icing on a long shift the Center will make sure he gets kicked out to save time to gain wind.
