i'm not going to continue the argument because "what-ifs" don't mean anything but is everyone here telling me that we would be better off with schenn/coots then we would be with weber?

according to some of you the "3rd-line-center- lifer" and schenn "he-who-cannot reach-potential" would be worth having over a legit #1?

im all for keeping both of them and don't think getting rid of either is worth it...unless it was for weber. thats it.

now when you say "+ prospects" i think that changes significantly. if the prospects they want are morin/sanheim then of course that's a no. if it's hagg/cousins i consider it real hard.

we have people here battling each other as to whether keeping schenn or coots will make the team better or if there is something out there that those names can obtain....this conversation ends if the name is weber.

convo over. we aren't getting weber i know. but i have a hard time believing we would suffer THAT much in forward depth when we would be simultaneously anchoring our defense.

I kind of wish Hagg was called up. I get the reasoning why he wasn't, but it sure would've added a nice incentive to watch the blowout that is most likely coming tomorrow night.

I don't think the Penguins are any good, they should be able to exploit the Flyers tomorrow night. Draft day is going to be exciting

I've thought for awhile now the disparity between Grossman and Lauridsen is pretty small. I've said this on these boards a few times, and understand why most disagree. I'm excited to see how he does with his second cup of NHL coffee, assuming he gets to play.

it certainly makes the flyers better. i like schenn and coots, trust me. but given what #1 d-men are worth these days, especially a guy like weber- thats a deal i would have made in hindsight. since that potential deal i'd say those two have gone down in value- not a whole lot but enough where nashville could rightfully up the stakes...

again this is hindsight- we didn't want to trade both because we all had these unrealistic expectations for those two. at least we knew what we would have gotten with weber

I agree with you there. I doubt Hagg ever sees NHL ice given the slide rule and all, but I could see maybe Cousins or Leier getting a spot start. Though Gordon and Akeson probably get called up before them two.

No doubt about that. Just would've been nice to see him play since I don't see much of the Phantoms and only caught a few of his WJC games. But dropping him into the lineup against the Pens with a Phantoms game on Wednesday would've been weird.
