Yup, its why I would really hope there would be a way to keep them both. If it has to be one to go though, I would lean towards Hagelin. - mdw7413
Honestly for me, it might just come down to the cap hit. Hagelin isn't having the best of seasons, will he get a big raise? |

Zucc will likely cost more than Hagelin though. The extra $1.5M we pay per year to retain Zucc could cost us Kreider the following summer.
Tough call. I know I'd love to keep all our pending free agents and I understand that someone has to go. I really can't decide between who I'd rather keep and who I'd rather go...they all have compelling arguments about why they should stay between MSL, Zucc, and Hags. |

True, Hagelin is going to be much cheaper than Zucc. I would think. |

The guy always talks about wanting to sign a long term deal and implies that term is more important to him than the money. Maybe he considers something like 6 years/21 million. |

Yeah, obviously management is going to make their best decision based on the cap. I dont know the dollar amount that the Rangers are going to be at, but if they have the extra 1.5 laying around I would say sign Zucc if the only casualty is Hagelin is gone. |

If only there was a website that we can become armchair GMs and propose different salary cap scenarios. |

Here is my other reason why I would let Hagelin go(and again I would hate to see him gone) if the money is there. Fast is turning into almost a mirror image of Hagelin. So I dont think its as bad as a hit to lose Hagelin. Where as who can replace Zucc? |

I think the other question to ask is who could get you more in a trade... both are younger and both are valuable. to be honest if i had to chose between the 2, i would go with hags. Zuccs is obviously more talented offensively, but if he doesnt make it on the score sheet he isnt very productive. Hags is a premier PK and is one our best forecheckers. If we can sign Zuccs for $4M or less i say keep them both though. |

I would hope so, but that's just potential right now. Not many players see the ice the way Zucc does. Where I think Fast has shown he can play Hagelin's game. |

sorry to be a broken record, but I still think MSL is the one at risk. That's due to his age and whatever salary he gets hits the cap regardless of what happens to him. If he signs a low base with incentives, it could help the situation, pushing out cap hit to 2016-17, beneficial only if cap rises. If MSL comes cheaper than he is now, it could provide enough room to sign Zucc and Hags. As much as I love Hags, give me Zucc, who plays bigger than his size, is good on the forecheck, can score and possesses the puck. |

Hags is an RFA, Buffalo may not want to deal with trying to sign him |

Nash getting dominated 5 on 5:

like I needed more reason to rip apart Corsi - jimbro83
(frank)ing retarded.
I'm guessing he hasn't watched many of the rangers games with a sentence like this..
"As a team, the Rangers may have won 15 of their last 18, but it’s been thanks to an incredible string of puck luck."
I will listen to Sutter and Gallant who gave the Rangers props after those games. Saying how a complete game the Rangers played. And Gallant specifically saying the Rangers were the best team he faced this year. |

on the ice for 18 more goals for than against = being totally dominated 5 on 5.
At the end of the game I would rather have more goals than "generating" more shots..... |

"While Nash will never be Patrice Bergeron, a possession player that can start in the defensive zone and finish their shifts by putting pressure or pucks on the opposing netminder, there are expectations on him when he’s being trotted out against top competition."
True that Nash will never be Patrice Bergeron but this guy is acting like he's a total liability in his own end? |

In the playoffs though it was the exact opposite. He was drive possession and tearing up the likes of Corsi and Fenwick. The line we was Rick Nash can't score. This season, he's a possession anchor. This, is the problem with advanced stats. Until they can become like baseball's WAR, then they don't mean much. |
