You guys have had your share of injuries, no offense, look at the Rangers, and how they struggled early on.
Once they got healthy, they start beating everyone.
you guys are still missing a few main guys, plus, the changes on defense didn't help.

I think when people speak of injuries, they need to mention when important players are out, (as oppose to 3rd, & 4th liners, you guys were missing key elements as much as any other team.

usually i find their style boring even just as a fan of hockey, but today they had some good offensive spark to their game. nash has been getting it done this year.

No offense, but the 1-2-2, that he's employed in the 2nd half, (I think), suits them better, it seems that they are able to limit the opposition's chances employing it, (sometimes).

orpik leaving hasnt been overly detrimental to me. and i will take hoff over niskanen any day of the week.

the pens would have been better off it the capitals defectors would have smuggled scuderi out with them. he is an absolute killer.

despres is still struggling a bit with consistency, but overall he has been pretty good. maattaa being out hurts a good deal. but yeah, pouliot and harrington arent ready to be top 4 guys.

Berube, to me, is still a mixed bag. He's not the worst coach in the world, but he does make some real head scratching decisions.

I don't have a ton of faith in him, but Hextall has backed him publicly. Is he to blame alone? Absolutely not, but he shouldn't be excused because he has a bad roster.

Its still a lot of shuffling, reorganizing, who plays with who?, managing the minutes, etc.
Cap wise, $25 million for Syd, Gino, & Letang, doesn't help either, it hurts your depth.
We'll experience this when Voracek gets his $8 million in a year & a half.

definitely agree about the cap. its hard. your big guys need to consistently play like it, as there really arent many quality people coming to save them. and injuries become excruciatingly magnified.

the only time the pens ever play anything resembling dump and chase is when scuderi attempts a pass to anyone other than his defensive partner.

I get it. I've said many of the same things, Berube's an old school coach. He's been dealt a bad hand, but he's played it poorly, IMO.

If he's still here next season, I'd imagine the leash will be short. Also, If I was Hexy, I'd back him publicly, too. No sense to make a comment that will hang over the poor bastard's head until he is fired.
