The Pelicans wouldn't trade Davis for every player on the Sixers and 4 first round picks

Davis is a man child, but that would be a tough deal to turn down if those are unconditional picks. That would be a heck of a 15 man roster with their picks plus 4 1sts. I think they'd do it.

And the Pelicans are nowhere near a Championship with Davis, and a decent supporting cast of Evans, Asik, Holiday, Anderson etc... But the Sixers are going to be contenders in a few years?

Pelicans do that trade in a second if it includes all rights including Sarij, McRea... Plus they'd have to work out all kinds of cap issues.

They probably would. They are nowhere with Davis. .500 team.

He knows that, but just trying to make a point I just don't get. When all was said and done if that deal could be worked out with all the cap issues and trades, the Pelicans would be a potential dynasty.

Those guys are overrated. Gordon, Holiday and Evans don't know how to play without the ball in their hands.

In 3-5 years, he'll be the best player in the NBA. You don't give away players like that.

Davis for Embiid, Noel, Saric, Mcrea, Daniels, MCW, Covington, Grant ...+ 4 1sts isn't nothing.

I was exaggerating. Thats not really a trade that would help the Sixers unless they had big time free agents lined up to sign here.

I disagree with that. He's an 18 -20 minute player, and would make a solid 2nd pair defenseman on a lot of teams. MacDonald has never played on a really good team. I'd like to see what he can do placed in the right role with the right support on a good team. He'd be even better.
- MJL

He has a 52 CF% since returning from his injury which is pretty good on a team that is below average in possession numbers.

Obviously there's a lot more to judging a Dman than shot attempt stats, but when MacDonald's Corsi numbers were bad there were a bunch of articles which used them to call him one of the worst defensemmam in the league among other things. So it's something worth mentioning.

Well, with the Giants out of the way, let's see how Richard Sherman and that star studded Hawks defense does in 2 weeks. I expect them to hold NE under 14 points.

I know, just playing along.

As much as I wanted the 1st pick I love the fight in the 76ers team. Even if they are beating teams that have been crippled.

125th! What a machine! Come to think of it, if he didn't suck this year so much to the point of getting benched on one of the worst D units in the league he could've eaten more rubber.

I wonder how many 5 million dollar defensemen in the league are getting scratched based on the match up.

I'm pretty excited that the cupboard isn't barren of legit talent. With the guys in the pipeline, have to figure they will hit on some. Would love to have that second round pick in this draft. Was a must to give that pick up... Had to get the jump on the other GM's so they didn't steal away Golden Arches.
- PLindbergh31

Good news is, sometimes it just takes a good draft (or two) to really fill in all the gaps and propel a mediocre team into a contender:

Kings 2007-2008 Kings: Doughty, Voynov, Simmonds, Martinez, King

Bruins 2006: Kessel, Lucic, Marchand

Blackhawks 2003-2004: Bolland, Bickell, Brouwer, Seabrook, Crawford, Byfuglien

Seems like the Flyers just had a really solid 2014 class. If they can accumulate more picks and have similar luck in 2015, we could be looking at kids that could really form the eventual backbone of a future Cup winner.

its crazy how some teams can put such a glut of talent together in one (frank)ing draft, and then you look at other teams and they go 2 or 3 years without producing an nhl caliber guy.

Scouting, or Luck?

A little of both!

I like the move you guys made for Perron, he'll get 30 goals, 30 assists, easy playing with either Crosby, or Malkin.
