The one thing Islander fans and Ranger fans do well together is unite against Pens fans

And I think we can agree we all hate the Flyers.

Ryan has gone for the one-two punch today. Not only will the usual slew of gameday troglodyte Islander trolls be coming over, but now we will be also overrun by Ranger fans looking to defend Staal's honor.

Downie is a pos. I wouldn't be surprised if Boychuk goes head hunting tonight for that cheap knee downie gave him. I thought suters elbow was dirty but considering it was downie it was worth a fist bump. Mario continues to be a hypocrite by employing cheap shot artists.

You have no room to talk what so ever, Matt Martin is a dirty scum bag. Every team has them, so lets go ahead and cut the holier than thou attitude.

Couldn't be further from the truth. Guy holds up on hits when he can. He could have destroyed Talbot in that game you guys loved so much and held up. If that were Downie Talbot wouldn't be playing anymore. How many suspensions does Martin have? Martin hits and plays with an edge but dirty he's not.

Yes and Yes. Not after this year and why is that the "real question" for you? Having a hard time understanding your interest in the finances of another team?

I respect Ryan's view, though he knows I disagree with him here.A good counter argument can be seen here: http://t.co/Y8pyfB3sOA.

Know point he is making with Orpik and the deal he received but that might the only time he and Staal should be in same sentence and/or compared to one another

DP was all Wang who admitted to it right after the contract was signed. Yashin was a terrible deal but he was not a bad player. Just payed entirely too much and could never live up to it. Neither contract had any effect on a team who have been scraping the floor for the last 7 yrs.

im just bustin balls cptn stabbin its all good! im sure you can find many great contracts we have, specifically the scuderi deal, granted that isnt as bad as paying someone for multiple years to not play for your team, though we may go down that road with him at some point...

The way Staal manhandled Crosby and turned him into his female dog in the playoffs makes every penny of this contract well worth it.

The fact that he's playing the best hockey in his career at the moment is just a bonus.

Im not claiming Downie isn't a dirty player, he is; and I love it. But there were multiple times in the home and home this year that Martin took unnecessary runs at our guys, the only point im making is that every team has that border line guy.

Johnny B's knee to Geno was dirty as could be.

Don't you get it? They can't talk about anything related to what's actually going on during games this year so they have to go back in time. That's a tell tale sign that the isles are good again

Every team has them for the most part. Thankfully our contracts under Snow have all been steals for the most part especially JT's which is one of if not best in the league right now though he'll be getting a big pay day in the next couple.

Was Staal at your Cup parade last year? Take a hike

Mrs St Louis ghost won that series for you guys, it had nothing to do with skill or determination it was 100% magical.

isles have been trending upward for a few years now so it was only a matter of time, wont argue there...we havent had a game since the minny game so there isnt much to discuss...halak is playing very well for you...hes always had a pretty bad attitude if I recall but he hasnt shown much if any of that this year...

brock nelsons stats sure have fallen off...is he just not gettting the bounces or are the isles using him different now that grabner is back?

Every team has someone who crosses the line, that argument should be put to bed. You guys would love Downie on your team, and us with Martin likely as well.

The hypocrite thoughts can sleep in the same bed. As was covered earlier the Pens had to adapt to the leagues persistent blind eyes.

Portion of a post I made 12/12/2008:

"From 1994-5 to 2000-01, NYI missed the playoffs and proceeded to make draft picks like these;

9th overall, Brett Lindros. Hahahahahahahaaa in 1994.

95, Wade Redden, 2nd overall. Is this a joke?

1996. 3rd overall pick = Jean-Pierre Dumont.

97, they get it right, but we all know what happened. 4th and 5th overall, Luongo and Eric Brewer.

Then... then in 98.... the Islanders, with the 9th overall pick select... select Michael Rupp.

So what I'm trying to say is, they drafted poorly, made the wrong moves, and right now the Islanders should have a winning core they drafted in those lean years... Instead, they tried to Rangerâ„¢ it, got Yashin, let Chara go, drafting more poorly (Yo, Raffi Torres 5th overall?).... I understand my Boss a lot better now. Oh, yeah... they brought in Mike Peca, and Trevor Linden. And they wore those jerseys with the Gorton's mascot....

The, finally, you have this group. They had to buy a new first line, because they didn't have one. They can't support that first line with the mid-tier picks they made (Nilsson, Nokelainen, Bergenheim).... and who the hell is Ryan O'Marra? Signing DiPietro to that deal was a good one, too. Now we have, from the looks of it, 13+ more years of him dropping F-Bombs at League events.

Here's a sample of one summer's work in the offices on the Island:

67 Million Dollar Contract for a goalie who's been injured long term seemingly once a season.

Sign Brendan Witt and Tom Poti.

Try to make up for signing Brendan Witt and Tom Poti by signing Mike Sillinger.

In an attempt to distract the fans from all the bad signings, sign Chris Simon."

Well you know my opinion on that there's no sense beating that dead horse but there were quite a few Pens fans that agreed with me and had their posts deleted soon after? Irregardless Martin leads the league in hits every year and I can literally count on half a hand how many of those could be deemed as dirty. One of them was this year against the Flyers on Schenn. Other than that I can't even recall?

The guy hits a lot and is really effective in doing so and removing players from the puck. If he were hitting players without the puck he'd get penalized and if he were the type to "take runs" at players I'd think he would have been suspended by now for it wouldn't you?
