Haters are going to hate & if you read this thread enough it's either Downie, Scuds, or Adams. You want to say in a 60 minute team game that 1 player caused the loss go & play lawn bowls!

Looks like you guys are officially top of the tree so start looking over your shoulder now because Downie & co are coming.

Its just nice to be looking back instead of looking up. Love playing you guys hope we meet in the playoffs again.

It is nice to see the Isles back in it. '93 aside of course.

Not sure any team in the East should be resting comfortably. I see 8 teams with equal good and suck to their games.

It doesn't matter where you finish.

Slightly over the halfway point. Injuries, trade deadline and some teams getting healthy. Way too early to jump off a bridge or stand on top of the mountain.

Possession numbers on the NHL app are overwhelming for Islanders last period - cannot win games if your opponent is as good as the Islanders & have that many shots, did it show that way watching the game?

Ol 29er put the 4-3 goal on Letang cross ice pass that was too risky. Something that maybe is a little of an old habit - impatience. Final period should hold plenty of lessons for the Pens to go forward but I hate to say it; are we now the Islanders bit.....no can't say it forget it.

Plenty of good signs as well & with Horny & Comeover coming back bring it on!

How did Acro go?

We're also not healthy, missing a few guys at least. Last year you guys collapsed after Tavares broke his leg. Not meant as a jab, more realizing what a player or four costs a team against very good competition.

There were a number of issues prior to Downie taking a dumb penalty.

Scuderi and Despres looked terrible. Despres made some of the dumbest plays I have ever seen a defenseman make, especially after he was walked by Tavares.

Our top line played well, but they didn't play better than the Islanders top line.

Spaling turned himself into a 40 tonne anchor for Malkin tonight and Bennett went invisible.

There was an organizational failure to get pucks past the Islanders blueline in the third period. I don't know if it was an attempt by guys to make cute moves at the blueline or what, but the forwards turned the puck over at the blueline far too many times leading to the Islanders coming back with speed.

For some reason this team can choke away a 1 goal lead in the third period with the best of them. The best way to protect a lead is to play 200ft away from your own net, but this team refuses to play the puck deep. Instead they make plays above the circles in a dangerous area.

Oh and Downie took a stupid penalty.

You're absolutely correct and should be much stronger if you can get some key guys back.

Martin had at least 3 instances early (Fleury, Fleury, Despres) where if he wanted to be dirty those guys would be dead. He made efforts to avoid dangerous plays. Guy gets a bad wrap because of the 1 game imo. I would love to have him on this team.

Thought it was just a really good game for 50 minutes. The Isles just wanted it more in the 3rd and then Downie selfishly stole their chance for one last push to tie it. I'm not going to crucify the guy, he's been good for the most part and has been a useful player. Coach doesn't have to have him out with 2:30 left in a 1 goal game right after he has a mini meltdown over his broken stick though.

Bottom 6 is the problem. Throwing out guys like Adams and Sill on the 4th line while you guys are throwing out guys like Martin on your 4th line is a big problem 5 on 5.

Will be interested to see if we make a trade or two ahead of the deadline. Getting Comeau and Hornqvist back will be great but losing Maatta was awful.

Will you guys make a move?

Really not sure. Snow has been avoiding waivers all year by putting players on ir just at the right time. Other than a depth defenseman or a solid backup in net, I'm not sure who Would be replaced

Glad you noticed that. He holds up! He could have killed the three of them and gotten away with it every time and didnt. Hes not perfect but he isnt dirty.

Wow! Ok. I'm dumb. I thought he broke the bottom of his leg during the games. Also thought you guys started out slow and picked it up midway through November. My bad for the waste of time and space.
