Maybe the refs call the entire game he wouldn't think he could do that poop. My god he had his stick broke in half a shift earlier that doesn't get called. I thought the whistles were away too. Sutter interfered with a shift before the 4th goal. Who knows what will be called and when these days?

In reality though thats only the 2nd stupid penalty of the season downie took. The other was also against the Islanders I believe. So thats a total of 2 in 40 some games from the guy that "takes to many stupid penalties.

Downie doesn't make this team but he certainly could break this team. A play like that could potentially lose a series in the playoffs.

They didn't lose that game because of reffing. They lost it because the Pens failed to play responsible hockey late in a tie game. If this team wants to go anywhere, they have to develop that killer instinct......which also involves making the right choices even if they sacrifice the occasional scoring chance.

NHL reffing is and has always been bad. It was an obvious penalty, but Malkin did the same thing to JT....that wasn't called either.
