This.

I'm being sarcastic and serious there at the same time. Value it or don't, you're being a myopic turd if you think this is a Flyers exclusive thing. It's not like our front office has been staffed by cavemen while 29 other teams are using supercomputers and laboratories to arrive at pure diluted correctness in their hockey decisions.

Well, IMO Phaneuf as captain should, but he's too busy hanging out in his walk in closet, looking at his watch collection and primping his hair.

And you didn't answer the question I asked. What trade value do you think Rinaldo has?
- PLindbergh31

I don't know, a late pick maybe? Who cares?

I would see what it would take to pry kassian out of vancouver. he seems toposisbly fallen out of favor. Not even sure what value he has tbh.

What other players that are in Rinaldo's "category" of player have been traded in season over the last few years?

IBM's Watson is running every other team and playing against itself for a challenge. The Flyers are the only suckers using their own brains, and clearly they are coming up wanting.

Bits for President!

What is the purpose of collecting players like Umberger, Lecavalier, Rinaldo, MacDonald that have no trade value? Why would any roster want to include players that other teams have zero interest in?

What's the difference between "successful" and "with possession"?
- Giroux_Is_God

'With possession' means the team kept the puck on the exit. For example, a tape-to-tape outlet, or somebody skating it out.

'Successful' includes anything that gets them out of the zone, whether the team keeps the puck or not. Examples: high and hard off the glass, dump outs, unsuccessful outlets, (and all the stuff listed under 'w possession') etc.

Finally a team the Flyers can look square in the eye and convincingly say "We might be better than you."

well, obviously the Flyers acquired these players purely because of their high trade value. Obviously. Good call, next caller.

FWIW, here is what I think the trade value is of the guys that most of us want to get rid of:

Rinaldo: Zilch, couldn't give him away
Umberger: see, Rinaldo
VLC: Maybe a 6th or 7th if we eat half the deal.
Read: 3rd round pick

Grossmann: Late 2nd round pick from a contender, may have to add one of our 4ths to get the deal done though.
Coburn: Late 1st round pick from a contender, may have to add one of our 4ths to get the deal done though
AMac: Zilch, unless we are willing to retain some of the $$$
Schultz: 4th round pick
CC: maybe a 6th or 7th from someone looking for depth for the playoffs
MDZ: maybe a 4th or 5th from someone looking for depth for the playoffs
Streit: late 2nd round pick from a contender
L Schenn: 3rd round pick

Emery: 6th or 7th rounder

Ok I have some trivia for you all.

Can you name the 3 players to receive Hart Trophy votes for at least two different teams from 2009-10 to 2013-14 aka the 2010s?

How are you going to bash the Leafs, and in the same breath say something like "no other team in the universe would employ a player like Rinaldo"? Comical.

Streit is worth a 1st and a good prospect. He's top 5 in D scoring.

if the Flyers can get that kind of a haul for Streit they should jump on it. By the time this team is contending, Streit may be eligible for Social Security.
