He had a horrendous start, but he has improved. Not enough but it's something.

Not tough if they just keep drafting, developing and staying patient.

There's no easy, silver-bullet fix, that's for sure.

No guarantees of those players developing. So it is tough. And those players are years away.

Actually, Del Zotto didn't stay with it. Bonino got away from him to get the shot on net. It should've been a routine stick block, but Del Zotto was a good stride off of Bonino when he shot it. Still a save that should be made.
- MJL

Bonino made himself some room, which I guess was the point of the move, but I still thought MDZ did OK there, all things considered.

A save should have been made there.

Now, this would be worth watching. Kimmo is a beast.
- johndewar

I'm kind of hoping that he can come back simply so he can retire after a proper sendoff.

This is it, really.

This is the best move they can make with this roster. You have to hope Baby Schenn and Couturier get better. You have to opportunistic if you're able to move one of your bigger contracts.

But otherwise, this is what it is.

Call me crazy, but I get the sense that you're not a Rinaldo fan.

so whats your plan? Continue spending on overpriced NHL defenseman in UFA? Trade for another L Schenn?

Ill stick with the drafting and developing...something the flyers have never done before. After that fails come talk to me...

I disagree that Umberger doesn't hustle and battle for pucks.
- MJL

I think the Cap's use Ovie for the full2 min of their PP. Maybe the Flyers should try G for 2 min. I would give Raffl and Laughton a chance. It is time to sit RJ.

Yup, charting the path is easy. Sticking to that path is the hard part.

I find it hard to believe you have the first and third highest scorers in the league and you're not in a playoff spot.

Back end definitely needs work aswell as between the pipes.

Not trolling, simply identifying a problem im sure you're aware of.

Curious to see what you guys do at the deadline if anything. In order to get anything back for a quality dman or tender you will likely have to give up some young talented forward.

Good luck fellas

I'm glad you were here to explain this for us. I, for one, was unaware of how trading works.

I would still like to find a way to pin the last two losses on Nick Grossmann.

Drafting and developing players should absolutely be the bread and butter moving forward. The Flyers however should not ignore other ways of acquiring players such as trades and free agency.

Just blame Rinaldo and Berube. That's the easiest route.

Flyers are already playing the crap out of Giroux, and using him on the majority of faceoffs.

It's a magical time of the year. The Leaffans are all talk until about Christmas. They never learn their lesson.

Say what you want about Rinaldo. He is what he is. However, he is not the reason they lost last night. He at least played with energy when he was out there. I thought the high-stick penalty was iffy and the misconduct? and the end of the game at that point didn't matter. Was he a bright spot? No. Was he a dark spot? IMO, not really. At least he brought energy. Something the other 17 guys didn't have after the first goal. This is just my opinion and you're welcome to disagree. As I'm sure most of you will.

I think the panic is justified. They look cooked. They aren't going to make the playoffs.
