Schultz, MDZ, and Carlo are fine. It's the other 5 guys that are the problem.

Really other 4 guys. Not fair to Streit. He's been very good offensively. Defensively not great, but overall can't be upset with his play.

- PLindbergh31

locking them up longterm would be a problem tho. im still iffy about schultz

remember when all we had to female dog about was lilja, shelley and at times matt carle?

No one dislikes Carle more than me, that being said he's Brad Park compared to Happy Meal.

MDZ got embarrassed for the first goal. Colaiacovo took a bad penalty that led to the 2nd goal, and only played 14 minutes against the Canucks' weakest lines. Not sure why they're getting a free pass. If Coburn or MacDonald had made those mistakes they'd be getting roasted.

The thing is Carlo and MDZ were signed to be depth guys. As was Schultz. The other dmen are being paid much more, and are under contract. To hold them to a higher standard is fair.

I find it hard to believe you have the first and third highest scorers in the league and you're not in a playoff spot.

Back end definitely needs work aswell as between the pipes.

Not trolling, simply identifying a problem im sure you're aware of.

Curious to see what you guys do at the deadline if anything. In order to get anything back for a quality dman or tender you will likely have to give up some young talented forward.

Good luck fellas

Our back-up and 3rd string goalie played last night. Our starter, Steve Mason, has been one of the top 10 goalies in the league this year. The main issue is the PK. If it was league average, the team would be in a much better spot. A lot of problems though but between the pipes is a bright spot.

That is fair. MDZ and Colaiacovo are better value for money. But when they make costly mistakes I won't just ignore it in favor of bashing the usual scapegoats.

I just see Allen getting waived and not claimed and wonder about that. They're similar guys, and Allen is a UFA in July, while Grossmann is signed next year to a cap hit that's expensive for what he brings.

If a team is looking for a rental, there's several guys who are similar to Grossmann and free agents in July, where a team doesn't have to worry about the $3.5mm moving forward. Guys like Allen, Jan Hedja, Bryce Salvador, even Eric Brewer.

Just seems like those guys are plentiful and don't have the cap implication moving forward. I think Grossmann could be more easily moved at the draft or next TDL

Makes sense.

There seems to be more sellers of that kind of player these days than buyers.

Well there has to be a better option than Hamburglar. Laughton has shown some offensive skill and like we both said ...he works hard. The coach should reward hard work. IMO Laughton has shown a hell of a lot more than RJ.
I can't remember the last time the 2nd PP scored a goal or if they have ever scored in back to back games.

- 3flyerkids

There really isn't a better option then Umberger for that net front position. Vandevelde and Rinaldo work their asses off also, I'm not putting them on the PP.

Bill, in your opinion, do you see Berube returning next season?

If not who do you think may be possible replacements?

What direction would like to see them go, in regards to a new coach?

I dotn want a recycled one. Get some fresh blood. any hot shotss in the junior ranks?

I think the difference is that those two do it much more often....

My dog just pissed on the carpet... ok, I'll clean it. It was just an accident. He pissed again.... damn...maybe something is wrong with him, no...he must just be having a bad week. Dog pisses again.... Ok, WTF!! Damn dog is gonna get shipped to the kennel if he keeps it up.

Colaiacovo was also way up ice ahead of a forward on the Canucks 4th goal leading to a breakaway. Simmonds failed to get the puck deep but Colaiacovo was way out of position on the play. Colaiacovo is in a tough spot having sat for so long, but he hasn't been very good in his two games back.

MacDonald doesn't do it that often. He is lumped in with everyone on the team in that they didn't play well last night, but with that said, he wasn't on the ice for any of the goals against, and hasn't been on the ice for many goals against in the last month. He's played very well overall for a while now.

Offensive skill for 30-40 seconds on a 2nd PP. I take Laughton over Hamburglar any day. It's at the half way point of season. The coach should try something different. Throw Raffl out there.. Do something.

the team is horrid, all philadelphia teams are horrid and non playoff caliber in 2015
- penguininnevada

I would rather be a horrid team rather than regular season top 3 team only to lose in the first or second round. Sound familiar Penny fan? At least we know we have problems to address and a season like this is expected after a recent coaching/GM switch. OH, and they will be addressed, so enjoy your time as regular season winners. Oh yea, don't you guys still have MAC? Nuff said. See ya on the golf course.

I'm not against a change, but for that net front spot on the PP, Umberger is a better choice the Laughton is. The problem with the 2nd unit is that they lack a playmaker on it, and the have trouble getting set up to get zone attack time. I don't see adding Laughton in place of Umberger changing that.
