I'd rather they throw 2 picks + to move up for Hanifin (or whoever shakes out as the #1 d-man)
- stashu

I think there is almost no way to move into the top 4 or 5. I think it would be impossible to trade into the top 2.

Interesting. But what about moving up for a premier winger? Mikko Rantanen, Mitch Marner, Dylan Strome, Pavel Zacha or even Matthew Barzal and Travis Konecny, a Girgensons type.

after playing with it for a few minutes, the sabres really need to end up 30th to ensure a top 2 pick

If we move up like that i would be so pissed if we took a d and not a Forward

lots of D in the late first for us Werenski ( who i think is better then Hanifin but that's just me) Roy , Carlo Zboril etc .. there are a lot of good D you can get late imo

and for the love of god trade josh gorges i'm sick of his crying and he sucks

yup. tough to win. 1 out of every 7 or so is not good enough. probably need to finish last and settle for eichel.

. Better in terms of raw talent or better all around game? I only saw him the one game against Canada and he looked awful against the reinhart line ( think they switched the matchup after a few shifts)

I think that is part of the question. From what I've read there are dropoff at different levels of the draft. There seems to be a top two, top 4 and then.... who knows if there is any difference between 5 and (insert a number). The other day I read something that said that the bottom half of the first round isn't as good as what has been said.

it's how many times a team other then the oilers or sabres got the 1 pick that has me concerned

While he has been really disappointing I give the guy credit for not hiding from these interviews like so many others that came before him have.

ya it seems wrong when <10% teams keep winning, but those teams add up to 55% odds, so its bound to happen.

will not be surprised if like 7th or 8th place team wins it.

i'm going to be adding with one that uses last years lottery odds, and one that uses what will be next years to compare the differences.

sabres are really unlucky they changed the weights. way harder to win it now.

Sure, because the odds favor the field and not the top 2.

I usually listen to what Baker has to say in early June when he talks about tiers of talent. Obviously no one knows for sure but it's a decent guide to help you understand what the GMs are thinking and where trades for picks are more or less likely to happen due to tier strength. It's kinda hard to find it discussed in articles or blogs from credible sources.

You make no sense sometimes.

If he's so bad he doesn't belong on the worst team in the league, why would a playoff team give up a 1st rounder for him?

Teams will pay for his type of play ..

some teams all think oh it's because he's on a bad team

some dumb team will give up the first for a player like him it always happens
