Interesting on TV last night...

If one MAF keeps up his current win pace and can win another Cup, that would almost make him a lock for the HHOF.

He's have a boatload of wins, 3 Cup appearances, and 2 Cups to his name.

That wouldn't be too bad.

Just sayin....

Out of interest, how many players is the most to come out of the same playing group in the modern era voted into the HHOF?

I saw that conversation. I think MAF will have a tough time getting into the HOF. Whenever you hear national writers talk about the Pens cup chances they ALWAYS bring up MAF's playoff woes. He will need to string together several strong playoff appearances (and another cup win or two) to erase that thought process. It's unfortunate, but when you own numerous big game gaffes, that will stick to you....fair or not.

Because Letang is destined to be injured at some point and we will need him. It always happens.

Same can be said about Martin, based on recent history.

Nobody believed me early in the week with Rust and Chorney being sent down...but Harrington gets the nod to come back to Pitt

Not sure the reason behind this.. could be a hoff is hurt but it was said he isn't. Maybe it's just some cap magic work from the waiver pick up. Not to sure we'll get to see him play

Letang-Martin
Hoff-Bortz
Suderi-Despres
Harrington 7th dman

Edit: Yohe tweeted he wasn't aware of any injuries and that a lot of his call ups are cap related which is what I'm guessing

Yeah when I think MAF I certainly don't think HOF. But, he's just entering his prime now. Barring injury, next 5 years are the goalie peak years. He looks more calm and compact then he ever has. Best I've seen him play. If he can conquer the mental demons come playoff time, Pens have a great chance to advance.

IMO for a GT to be in the HOF, they have to have won a Vezina at some point. Just seems logical to me. But then again, I have high standards for my HOF's. I certainly don't think Craig Biggio should be in the baseball HOF.

Could be Pens last trip to the Coliseum tonight

I miss the old style rinks, especially Chicago Stadium.

Hey, you watch your mouth. Craig Biggio was one of my favorite players growing up.

But honestly, Fleury is definitely going to have to put up this season's types of numbers for a few more seasons and prove people wrong when it comes to the playoffs too if he ever has a shot of making it to the HOF. But it is going to look awfully strange to have a goalie in the top 5 in wins all time not in the hall of fame, although that is what CuJo is currently dealing with.
