speaking of Foligno would any one be shocked if he was part of a package at the deadline ?

I would not be shock if almost anyone was moved absent of it being Reinhart, Ristolainen, & Girgensons.

However, when you are very weak in both current NHL depth and prospect depth at a position where a guy that is being paid $1.9M for the following season, why trade him unless he helps you get a key piece in return?

He has not played consistently enough, which is true, however, with the position he plays and what the prospects at LW look like, he's worth more being on the team then off the team, again, unless he is a key part of a deal that brings back a true impact player, preferably at LW.

found it about Alex Tuch ...

However, Murray is feverishly trying to acquire another first-round pick in hopes of stashing him in college for proper grooming.

“They [college players] are useful,” Murray said. “If you draft them out of the USHL or Tier II in Canada and they’re going to college, you basically own their rights for four years, which is a good thing. It’s a longer development process, versus junior which is two years.

“If you look at our depth chart, we have more college players than junior players. You have guys like [Hudson] Fasching [of Minnesota] and [JT] Compher [of Michigan] who we think are very good prospects.”

When asked, Murray hinted strongly that forwards Alex Tuch or Sonny Milano, both of them committed to Boston College, might be one of his team’s mid-first-round targets.

“They are on our radar, they’re in play,” Murray said. “And if you read between the lines, maybe that’s why we’re trying to trade for another first-round pick.”

This whole situation is so sad. I feel bad for the kid. It hard to imagine that someone's own parents would do this, but it seems to be far too common.

Looks like Ek just updated it all today.

Nothing to see here, it's the Sabres, we know what the likely moves are - UFA dumps.

tbh, I wanted ryan right off the bat...the only other one i'd be interested in would've been gary kubiak

At first I was Leary, but with kiko back next year and Ryan's defensive prowess I have done a 180

The defense is not a worry to me at all. It's what will he do on offense. It seems he has put some good people in place, Greg Roman, who have experience with young, mobile QBs. He has said that his pride and joy is the offensive line which is a glaring weakness as well. He wants to make them "bullies" but we will see if he can deliver.

my hope is that they'll get the best offensive line coach available to go along with ryan and roman and that they'll build a scouting staff that's second to none

I really think the likelihood he is traded is less than 30%. I don't think any team is going to pay the seemingly astronomical price Murray wants for him.

I was riffing for a while on this one and trying to squeeze this possibility into some kinda joke that fit the Cody Hodgson/Canadian college girl/"Don't you know who I am" story.

But I thought better of it.

Tyler Myers at forward. Awesome! This team is attempting to break the static. I love it.

Goes to show you what TM was asking for. If the Wild settled for Dubnyk for a 3rd either goalies would have gotten at least a 2nd...
