If its the play I think it was, it looked like a typical swat during any hockey game. Just bad luck, Martin is a tough guy but doesn't strike me as a dirty player at all. Clutterbuck on the the other hand is giant (frank)ing wussy. Go after Boyle who has a broken nose, seriously.
- mdw7413

boyle was the one who sucker punched clutterbuck first...maybe guys with broken noses shouldn't go looking for it.

Actually on replay Clutterbuck took a swing at Boyle first but missed

Actually no, it was Martin holding Boyle and that wussy Clutterbuck tried to get a free shot in. Sorry dude, Isles played a great game, you're not going to convince me Clutterbuck isnt a big dildo

You need to watch it again. Clutterbuck is a jerk but Boyle wound up and threw a sucked punch while Clutterbuck was tied up with someone else.

I watched 3 times, Martin had Boyle, Clutterbuck tried to punch Boyle and missed, then Boyle punched Clutterbuck. Clutterbuck started that whole thing. Even Martin realized it, and let Boyle go, and started throwing Fast around like a rag doll.

Who cares who started what. Bottom line is the islanders made us their female dog.

Yep. Clutterbuck is a jerk. Hes doing exactly what we pay him for and doing it quite well I might add. Line was an absolute force last night and clutter was a large contributor to that.

Very true. Hamandeggs tried to nail stemp at the buzzer
And landed on his arse -as he should have- then cluster!uck
Came flying in at stemp although it was his own a-hole teammate
Who started it all when he tried to lay an unnecessary hit w 1 sec left.

Plus it makes tons of sense for a 38 year old Boyle who never fights to try and start throwing sucker punches with a broken nose at the end of a game where suspensions can be called.

Yeah. If only the rangers cared about the islanders with them being a doormat team. None of this would have happened.

Captain, I totally agree. Just thought what Clutterbuck tried to do to a 38 yr old defenseman with a broken nose who never fights was so (frank)ing gutless. Martin on the other hand , is stand up guy. He could have started throwing punches at Fast, but realized it was such a mismatch and just tossed him around like a rag doll.

Come on man, they showed up but the islanders just outplayed us. They suffocated us defensively much like we did to many teams during our recent wins. Gotta give the isles credit. When we lose, it's not always because we didn't show up... Sometimes the other team was just better.
- rangerdanger94

We just got done with a 3 game west coast trip that saw the Ducks, Kings and Sharks, did we look anywhere remotely like that in any of the 3, as soon as we were hemmed in they gave up, there was no fight after the 1st, they've got two weeks to think about this one and then play them like a team with emotion

As soon as Brass' shot hit both posts you knew it was a gonna be a long night, seems to follow that script when we lose, Dallas game too, we haven't looked that bad in over a month hitch a reason to pick your head up, I do wish I had a fast forward button right now, the Isles nation is at new level of obnoxious today

Pretty sure he told Boyle he signed with the wrong team on top of it after I watched the replay. . Clutter is an agitator. Not an overly dirty player you'll rarely/never see him with intent to injure but he does agitate and do it extremely well. Thats what kind of player he is and if you hate him and boyle hates him hes doing exactly what he gets payed for. Believe me I felt the same way about avery

Nailed it.....

Martin seems to play the tough guy role the right way in the NHL, Clutterbuck is just an agitator. I believe in his earlier days w/Minny, he use to fight until he received a concussion from 1 and stopped fighting. But in fairness, the ending of the game was just emotion let out/off from some of the players... Lets not make it who started what bc the bottom line is that it happened. Plus if some would think that the isles have started it, then please look at the game tape again bc the whole night Rags players were pushing Isles players after the whistle mostly in the game.. So, I don't need to come here and gloat, just admit it was a good game but the isles played better. No need for excuse's of miscues or bounces bc that happens in all of hockey games. So on that note.....................

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Vin, it's a long season. Some nights you just don't have it. The Rangers didn't have their legs last night, and they played one of the best teams in the league that was just itching to throw them an *ss whipping. At the end of the day, when a team wins 13 of 14 games, you have to allow them a stinker. Every team in the league has one once in awhile, and it's not a matter of courage or heart or emotion, it just happens.

I will say this, however, the Islanders are a damn good hockey team, and the Rangers are going to need to be running on all cylinder to beat them. They weren't last night.

It was a big game no doubt, but after the last few seasons, I just can't get too worked up over a regular season hockey game. The real season starts in April, and the Rangers just need to make the tournament, and be playing their best hockey at that point.

You just can't get too worked up over every regular season game. At the end of the lockout, we were satisfied just to make the playoffs, and then to win a round in the playoffs. Now, the expectations are much higher, because expectations change with success.

I just hope it doesn't happen in round 1. Why I hate this new playoff format.
