Yeah, because no player with a minor injury has ever lied and withheld anything from his coach or team. Nope, never happened ever.
- MBFlyerfan

Of course they do, then who is the blame on if that's the case? The coach doesn't decide whether a player in injured or not. The coach is given a list of available players, and makes out his lineup.

Coburn is much more valuable to a guaranteed playoff team than Read. LA or Montreal could really use a guy like him to upgrade their second pairing, and that could be how we get another 1st this year.
- Feanor

I will take that.

This team won't go on a 10 game winning streak, hell winning 2 in a row is an achievement for this bunch.
- BiggE

What was the stretch they ran off 2 years ago once they were eliminated?

They had Manning and Lauridsen in there as regulars and they ended up with the 11th pick. I thought they were in the top 6 or so before they got hot. I could be wrong.

I really don't think any team is lining up for Emery.

When does it get to that point? At any time before their officially eliminated?
- Just5

When Hextall decides it has gotten to that point, and decides to make some moves if they're available to them.

That they aren't making the playoffs may be the fans stance at this point, but it's not the Flyers, nor should it be. They should be approaching the season and every game the same way as if they were inside the playoffs at this point. The Flyers have not arrived at that point yet.
- MJL

Technically they have not. But they have pulled up in to the driveway and are now yelling at son #2 because its raining and for some reason he took off his shoes without untying his shoelaces and now they are a massive knot that have to be untangled so he can get them back on his feet.

Grandma is standing on the front porch waving at them. They are a five foot walk up the steps and they will have arrived.

Flyers go on a 10 game unbeaten streak at the end of the season and pick #12
- vejim

For the love of god, please don't let this happen.

The Flyers have two games with the Canes to end the season. I'm disowning any Flyer that scores in those games.

I'm shooting higher. Top 5 is a good possibility I think.
- PLindbergh31

I am hoping top 5 as well. Even if we finish at the 5 spot we have a 8.5% chance of getting top pick. We are due some luck!

Watch out for the Wild... they are gunning for our current spot at 6th worst. Even though they have a stud #1D playing 29 minutes a night.
- Feanor

Yeah. They are playing some miserable hockey. Yeo might be the next coach to be on the bread line.

Who is going to be the college FA everyone is after this year?

Just look for who's undrafted...

Leafs bringing Nylander across the pond. Hmmmm I wonder if the Flyers have thought about that with Lindblom for this year to get some Phantoms games in? They would have to sign him first right?

89.9% team ES SV-pct (worst).... league median is 92.5%... it's absurd.

Different year, different team. A lot of guys on this club seem to already be playing out the string.

I think he'll be a phantom next year. His game is made for the smaller rink anyway. Assuming Hagg starts with Phantoms next year, should make the transition easier for him.

Would like to see if they can get Vasiliev over here too next year

Like the 12-13 Flyers before Mason arrived.

I'm all for playing to win and think they should do that every game and let the draft chips fall where they may.

That said, reality must be dealt with and that reality is that they're not going to make the playoffs so it most definitely is time to start setting up for the future.

Better than the .001% chance at winning the cup, should they even make playoffs.

It's going to be a long 40 games.
If Mason is out a month or so how long would Emery's hip last? I give him 3 weeks max. Therefore we could very well just ride out season with Led Zepp

That's the reason I didn't want Emery back. Not that I don't like him, but if your starter goes down, Emery isn't physically capable of handling the lions share of the workload. It's really a moot point now. Let Zepp play some games. I have no problem with that at all.

And I would sit Mason at least 3 weeks, if not longer. They are going to be at least double digit points out of the # 8 seed, with other teams having games in hand. This season is toast.

I don't think it's time to start setting up for the future. I think it's time to continue trying to to win and to continue to evaluate the players and the coach in that environment. See how they respond. The trade deadline is still close to 2 months away. The trade market will expand and become clearer then. If a deal presents itself that makes sense before then, then go ahead and make it.
