Exactly my point. He can make all the throws but is a turnover machine and his record proves that. Not to mention that awful contract.

EJ isn't the answer.

Whoever brings a greater return. Both are streaky goaltenders neither are #1's we would probably have to address he position anyways in the next couple of years
- Pegullaville

Agree 100%. So, we have 3 potential ufa goalies depending on how much matt hackett plays for the rest of the year. Lieuwens future is in doubt due to just awful concussion symptoms, and ullmark is getting a rough ride this season in europe. Goaltending depth chart might look very different next year. And these guys take years to develop.

Never said he was. I just would rather go with him over Cutler.

They had the worst D this year but were good the other Cutler years. He is 2 games above .500 and averages almost 2 turnovers a game...I'll pass

Most everyone on here is better with the young players coming up and also cap and contracts then myself,I don't have much time to do research. What FA goalies are available next year?
- SABRES 89

I really hate that capgeek is no more.

nhlnumbers and cap central are bush league sites.

Maybe trade him but I doubt they cut him, I'm still trying to figure out how they sold EJ on Rex. But I guess 27.5 mill for a coach changes your opinion.

While he is an option, he's not the best option.

I don't think there really is a "best" option. I'm still hoping they upgrade the OL, the Rams cut Bradford and he is here with Sanchez (or someone like him) and EJ

Hurricanes’ E. Staal not likely to waive no-trade

It doesn’t appear as though Carolina Hurricanes captain Eric Staal will be waiving his no-trade clause anytime soon.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Staal wants to remain with the Hurricanes.

Staal, whose name has been bandied about amid trade speculation, has one year remaining on his contract. His salary cap hit is $8.25 million – his actual salary next season will be $9.5 million – and he’s slated to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2015-16 season.
