A. Gronk is the best TE in football. I never said he wasn't. But Graham is absolutely close
B. Calling NE a system team is giving credit to their coaching staff who work for the New England Patriots. So yes I can give credit to a team I hate.
C. Where was Wleker the past 2 years? 4th on his own team in receiving last season, and replaced quite easily by Emmanuel Sanders this season. Just like Julian Edelman magically replaced the great Wes Welker without a hiccup
D. Tom Brady is a top 3 QB of all time. But has not won a SB without a top 10 defense....ever. So the notion that he does everything by himself is quite hilarious

- sbroads24

Disagree

Gronk is the complete TE

Graham is a WR playing out of position

I love ya, Rexy. By far, my favorite coach in the league.

But how do you let "defensive philosophy" (4-3, 3-4) get in the way of building on what was (is? well, who knows, now?) a Super Bowl calibre defense?

Their 3rd string QB.
- rmiethaner

that dude has one hell of an arm.. half of his throws looked like a half throw and they were still on the money. Being in the belly of the Big 10 i have a lot of friends that are OSU fans, and the one i was watching the game with said that he can throw 45 yards from his knees.. No clue if that is correct but if so, holy crap...

The TE position is a glorified WR position in today's NFL

Gronk does it all yes, but Graham is also a great player IMO.

That's what is reported but I kind of doubt that is the whole story. When this kind of move happens isn't this result expected? Maybe Schwartz's feelings were hurt because he was passed over. Ryan had had at least as much success running defenses in this league as Schwartz - I don't think this is a big deal.

The point is the franchise's goal should be the SuperBowl. The defense has the franchise in a position to compete, and the head coach hire should have been made to further the goal, not to take away from the element that has the franchise ready.

The hire should have been made to fix what wasnt working, not to start all over again.

This was my issue with the hire. The defense was fine. The guy they had running it was doing a hell of a job. Why bring in another guy who made his name because of his defenses? They need a guy that can come in and figure out the offense, and Rex couldn't do that in NY, so why is he going to be any better here?

Graham is a beast

the statement was Gronk is a complete TE and Graham is close

I do not feel Graham plays the TE position, remotely close to what Gronk does

Not a slam on Graham

Ryan has a pulse, something that has been lacking on the Bills sidelines for a long time.

and Marrone just punted his way out of the NFL

I'm glad Marrone is gone. And I don't entirely hate the Ryan hiring. I just don't quite get it. I know the players are really excited about it. My hope is that the new OC does a better job than Marrone and Hackett did. Because that was just atrocious.

He can't do any worse.

My guess is the Bills will be a run first team and lean on the D, like the Giants, Bears and Ravens did during their glory years.

Well, Rex's specialty is defense so he won't be running that offense. That's Greg Roman's job. Making EJ good, well, that's like putting makeup on a pig. What Rex CAN do is let Roman do his job unlike what Marrone did to Hackett, and also bring in a guy who can get waaaaaay more out of the offensive line. I like the Bill Callahan rumblings.
