We all know they are just saying this because he is useless and they are trying to trade him.Oh and Murray has never said a deal would have to blow his socks off . I was just making that up.

Physical (Debatable) and towering right-handed shooting defenseman who are 24 years old and who carry a reasonable cap charge for players who can play 25 minutes per game against the best forwards in the NHL are about as rare of a commodity as you can find in the League.

If the Sabres trade Myers now, odds are they'll be looking for a player just like him in two years, at which point Myers will be just entering his prime years with close to 500 games on his NHL resume.

Why trade an asset you have now if you know you're going to need that same asset in the future?

And while it's betting on uncertainty either way, Meyers is the one with the most proven long term track record. He CAN play, GMTM knows that. And I don't have a problem with ranking him as a second pairing guy at all.

The morning show is way too morning for me out here on the west coast.
I try to catch a little pregame/postgame so I can catch player interviews and stuff. But besides that, the station is pretty useless.

100% agree, some people can only talk certain things and its pretty "white" in terms of anything not easily known

I have a feeling why TM didn't seem that in to him at first....because he hadn't watched much of his game and didn't like the NTC.

If Murray's betting against his future then even with the low point total this is the most he'd be worth . Either you believe the numbers will add up when the team gets better, in which case why even consider moving him at all or you can't see that happening in which case it's a tougher sell.

Right now he's a young defensemen on a bad team that has little for him to work with. As this team improves and he doesn't (all hypothetical of course) teams will be less likely to give anything for him. You won't be able to find a team who'd be willing to pay for potential like they could right now.
