Eh, lots of tumult the past few months been keeping me away. But overall, I'm doing alright. Decided to get a single seat for tomorrow's game... want to be able to give Dom a standing ovation as his number goes up between Patty La and what I assume will someday be Alex Mogilny.

(fun fact, there's a 2-banner gap between LaFontaine and Gare this year in the rafters).

Plausible as those are 2 numbers that haven't been used since either player left.

My guess is Andreychuk gets up there. He's #2 in all time team scoring.

I wouldn't argue with that at all, love me some moose. I wouldn't choose to put him there myself, though. I'd sooner include him in TB, as the captain of the cup winning team.

If Vanek were still here, he'd place 5th in all time team scoring...........

Aside from Miller the only one with a shot is Lindy.

TBH, if I was being really selective about it (and there's a case to be made you should be), Dom should be the 4th banner after the French Connection.

Gare was a fine player and all but not franchise defining.

Horton played all of 124 games for us.

Patty is my personal favorite Sabre (never actually saw the FC play) but also had a short career with us.

None of those three would be looking down on the Bell Centre.

really have no problem with any of them...Horton was a legend punch brought in and helped the fledgling franchise land their first playoff berth...

gare packed a lot into his eight seasons in buffalo, including two 50-goal seasons, just like he packed a lot into his smallish frame

lafontaine was a big part of the resurgence of the franchise

that being said, I see your point

my guess is one of the suck sisters ends up there

That might be the physically weakest top line in all of the NHL.. even the Sedins had a physical guy swapping in and out of their line.

My Issue is, you retire a jersey number because no player can ever do what that player did while donning that number.

Maybe Montreal does it the right way in honoring the player and number.

Yeah I felt dirty typing that.

When it comes to their legacy, they are the standard. Pains me to say it, but it's true.

I have a list of friends that is ever growing that when asked "Hey you wanna go to the game tonight?" and their reply is "why? they suck it's a waste of time." Well when they're good again and you wanna go because it's no longer a waste of time, you can go fvck yourself.
