I'm simply tossing out a top pair defense man whose name has been in the rumor mill.

I wouldn't do it for John Carlson, either

- Jsaquella

eitherway theyre gonna have to swallow a bitter pill in some sort of trade to get what they need and back into contention, have the goalie and top line center, decent enough 3rd and fourth lines need that defenseman and preferably another speedy winger

That's fine, but they can't afford to overpay for it. Have done that far too often over the past few years.

You don't draft as many D men as you have the past three years to trade for a top D men now.

I get you, I'm very similar. I'm happy when they win, very unaffected when they don't

losses used to really bother me... now not so much. don't get me wrong i'm still muttering and cursing at the tv during the game but i don't wake up mad about it the next day anymore.

Depends. If Arizona called and said we'll trade you OEL for your pick and Morin, I'd probably do it

Yeah, I get bugged at the losses, but there's almost no anger and it's largely forgotten by the next day

i hear you but i think being that they actually have a legitimate goalie who God-willing can get healthy, another overpayment, then proceeding with patience is what they need... i know it sounds crazy but sometimes you gotta doyble down... and from a business standpoint i dont see them letting that stadium go half full for a few years.

Definitely. I just don't see that happening.

I try and get Hanafin in the draft and bring along the prospects without giving any forwards up.

If I'm moving a first rounder for defense help, it'd be 2016's. They're picking top ten this summer, and it's a good crop. Not tossing that away unless it's an absolute stud

Nope. If it was Sanheim instead of Morin, I'd probably agree. Both not both of them and a high 1st

In case anyone is trying to get away from watching the Cowboys win, Sanheim and Fazleev will be on at 3 on NHL Network

here's my thing with this, sanheim and morin could end up being coburn and grossmann 2.0... we KNOW what OEL is, and we know he will add a dynamic to this team that makes them substantially better now and years to come. so while im not disagreeing with your opinion, i do realize there's a huge risk of either decision.

You'll have a hard time finding a top D man to be had on the right side of 30 via trade.

Like JSaq said, if a guy like OEL could be had you consider the move. But we don't have the assets to pull that off unless we come out of the lottery with a top 2 pick.

I'm fine with trading one or the other. But not both. That's it. I'm not willing to overpay to that extent.

I'm willing to make other moves that will address the defense, but I'm not sacrificing a ton of picks or prospects.

I haven't a clue what's in Hextall's head, but I hope whatever is rattling around doesn't involve moving future picks and prospects.

Aside from sitting Mason down for a spell regardless of how he says he feels and how desperate Berube want's him back into the lineup, and moving some bad contracts at the TD or at seasons end, I hope he stands pat with his plan.

Nothing says welcome back to school like quizzes due tonight on smoking cessation, dyslipidemia, as well as a cumulative 50 question quiz tomorrow on the dosage form, class, indication, and brand/generic names of 150 drugs.

sooo i was going to run down a list of possibles and coming across drew doughty's profile, i was surprised to see he's only 25! i thought he was older.hmm that definitely makes me err more on your side in this, seing that possibly sanheim and morin could actually be what we need them to be in a few years. still tho gotta hope they pan out, im sure one if not both will.

Mason definitely needs to get healthy. that needs to be priority number 1. if berube is gonna force the issue then add that to laundry list of reasons for his dismissal

I'm not sure either will be a legit number one. I think Sanheim has a better chance, but who knows. I'd be willing to try and get an older stop gap guy for a year or two to bridge the gap....but no way I'd pay a premium
