I didn't see the solid game that Berube and others apparently saw.

Passes to guys in open ice going into skates or out of reach; players running into each other trying to get loose pucks; a late 1st period PP that had Vinny, Umberger and Read on the same line (all 3, really??) and was fortunate to keep the puck in the offensive zone.

That's the short list. I can't put a positive spin on that game. I can't wait to read how wrong I am when I get home tonight...

from what i saw, especially in the first period, i thought they were largely flat, executed poorly and looked like poop. but hey, that's just me.

Mase is out for at least a week.
The idea of Emery and this D against Tampa is scary.

- Marc D

not sure the odds of beating tampa (or most teams) go up significantly no matter who is in goal. my point is they should have given him a week off (or more) after he needed to be carried off the ice at practice. why the team decided to play him again so soon, and then again after the second 'tweak', especially given the long odds of making the playoffs, is beyond my understanding

Thats what I heard on the radio late 1nd and 2nd. Flyers creating next to nothing, boring slow paced game. They are good at not getting completely throttled on the scoreboard when they lose I'll give them that.

i think they have a better chance with zepp, but it doesn't really matter. they don't win against tampa anyway - just like boston and the nyr.

the game was a (frank)ing snoozefest. i wanted to punch myself in the face.

had they cashed in early on that first pp, the game might have turned out differently.

I agree with you here, but we never know the details, what the player says to the trainer, what the tests show, etc.

But in retrospect it looks like he should not have been playing yesterday.

Every player they spoke to Simmonds, MDZ, Giroux and others all said "we played a good game"

I just dont get it..They did some things well but most of what they did was bad...

Number one PP on home ice gave more chances then got. They couldn't cash until late in the game and gave up a shorty early. Not good. Hard for me to blame Emery.

Maybe after Mason got hurt, my low expectations tumbled. By no means did they play a great game. However they did generate chances and did hold the Bruins to under 20 SO & limited chances.

The PP sucked, zero question. They failed to capitalize on a lot of chances. They had breakdowns that led to goals. They had spotty goaltending. But the process was good, they did a lot of things better than they usually do them. I think what they are saying, or at least what I'm saying is, if they can play like they did yesterday on a consistent basis, and combine It with better execution, they can be a better team.

No, nobody's saying that, but in terms of building blocks, it's a game you can build off of. Right now, having a better process is a good first step. I want to see progress. I feel we did see some yesterday.

terrific.

i'm enjoying watching other teams play...especially out west. means nothing, and it's just entertaining hockey, like the blues/canes game yesterday for example.

our nightmare just won't seem to ever end.
