Sorry but I treat backup goalies like I do QB's in the NFL. You have to be ready and be prepared for every game even if your name isn't called. The injury happened fairly quickly so it wasn't like he was sitting for a long period of time.

He wasn't good today. We can agree to disagree.

The only goal that was really bad was the first when Emery came off the bench.

are we all sure that del zotto wasn't scratched for so long because of the porn star/twitter incident? guy goes through a slump, gets a chance with the flyers, does decent and regains some confidence early on and then starts getting cocky and trying to get some porn star poon and embarrasses the club- to which they say 'not so fast, peter north'.

Couts was a beast the last two games.
He's been great lately.

I think Couturier has been better then most give him credit for all season. He's placed in a tough position each game. He's quietly and easily as important as Wayne Simmonds to this team, if not more.

He really didn't look that good to me, either. None of the goals were all his fault, but I can't say he played great. The first goal, he left a huge rebound in the low slot. Pasternak beat everyone to the puck, but redirecting a bad angle shot into the slot is never a good idea.

The second goal, can't fault him at all, bad turnover, bad line change by Umberger, defense got crossed up.

The last goal, two on one, played badly by Streit for sure. Still think Emery could have played it better. Kelly definitely settled the puck and made a good shot, but Emery was slow getting over and never got set. Not saying it was a meatball or easy save, but I think it was stoppable with better positioning.

That'd be dumb, but then why have others been scratched for multiple game stretches? MDZ isn't an outlier. Schenn & Colaiacovo also made long trips to the Cote suite

Said a couple of days ago they should've given Mase a 2 week break or so just to rest whatever is going on, regardless of what they MRI showed.

This season is lost anyways, no need to make it an even bigger disaster by compiling on to it and having the best Goalie you've had in a long long time get seriously injured because they didn't eir on the side of caution.

I am wondering what the Flyers would be willing to do to get the first round pick on draft day. I'm willing to bet this team makes a last minute run and puts between the 10 and 13 spot in the draft but what if the Flyers traded Coburn to the Oilers for the Pens' first round pick? That gives us two. We have young prospects in Laughton, Morin, Sanheim, Hagg, Gostisbehere and Stolarz. Do you think the Flyers would do to get that "next big thing" entering the league?

Yep. My concern with the Mason injury is for long term. Short term? Let him sit out until he feels great

Yeah, Mase, would you like to take a 6 month tour of Europe, starting tomorrow?

This whole secrecy with Flyer injuries is getting laughable and embarrassing.

Overdone and kind of funny when its the fans that support the well paid ass of the owners.

MRI's are negative, but something is going on. He should be checked out by a knee specialist just to be safe.

You're really something else, you know?

And by "what else", I don't know. Its a saying.

Ok Ill say it. Is Berube supposed to be some kind of Doctor? Does he have MRI eye? How the hell is he supposed to know what is up with Mason until they get the results? So why is it what you call a joke?

At the game it looked like Mason tried to make a move after making the initial save thinking the Flyer defenseman who had the puck was a Bruin....it was just for a split second but he moved very awkwardly and you could see he tweaked something.

The Coburn giveaway on the second goal was egregious. He had multiple options to get out of the zone and chose a low percentage pass up the middle that was telegraphed so badly the mites on ice could have intercepted it.

I also want to point out that Sean Couturier is having a really good season. He sees the the most talented opponents of each team, plus you can debate who's been worse, Read or Umberger. Couturier is playing well despite his wingers and I think he's going to reach the 20 goal mark this year.
- SuperSchennBros

Agreed and even more recently.

I would still be willing to move him in a package for a number 1 dman under 30 or a number 1 left wing under 30 or one of the first 3 picks.

It should also be abundantly clear to anyone that watches the Flyers this year that having Read and Umberger as wingers would also slow down Crosby , Giroux, others let along Couturier. Just a brutal pair to have to play with right now.
