The bruins got a gem in David Pasternak. Kid was just drafted last year, went straight to the AHL and puts up over a point per game. Then gets called up and looks like he belongs. I wish we could hit on a pick like that for once. A prospect that doesn't need to be coddled and pampered. Or spend years "adjusting". I'm not saying Pasternak is there yet or that he won't go through some rookie moments but it must be nice to have a prospect that gets it from day and isn't a high maintenance liability like some of the guys we have.
- MCGUIZZY

Very easy for a rookie to come into a good situation and look like he belongs, if he was a Sabres he would look like everyone else on our team, lost.

Coaching on this team is terrible but I'm not all that mad about it as it will get us in last place. It wouldn't surprised me if there are 6 different forwards on this team next year as well which is a good thing.

He's still in junior. I will believe it when he's at a higher level like the AHL. yes he's exceeded expectations but there are plenty of kids in junior putting up points
- MCGUIZZY

The good news is he's turning into a goal scorer, something that was not expected of him. He's pissed about not getting drafted in the 1s round and it's driving him.

24 game sample size in the AHL and now we need a player like Pastrnak?
- Herzeleid

? Yea my point was he didn't need time to "adjust". He got it from day one. He was the youngest kid in the AHL, put up over a point per game and named an AHL all star. Kid comes back for WJC. And puts up 5 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. We haven't had anyone like that in a long long time.

What's wrong with Torey Mitchell that he's out so long? Never cared much for him but they sure as hell are extra slow without him.

we have 3 first rd d men on the ice this year, yet d looks lost more often then not

we have been the worst scoring team in the nhl for quite some time

aside from girgens, who have we hit with?

none of the players on this team are close to all star level of play

Found out last night that the Jets and Ducks wanted Meszaros, was for either a pick or a player, TJ Galiardi may have been the player since he's been scratched a lot............... Murray said no. Don't shoot the messenger. Pick and player were talked about by both Jets and Ducks.

Or maybe not. Besides I was mainly talking about what he did in the AHL in his first year as the youngest kid in the league.

What is the average age of those 1st round d men? That is why they look lost but have moments where they look good. If the Sabres were better, both of them wouldn't be here and they would look a hell of a lot different if we weren't so bad up front.

Fair enough, I just think the Sabres are so bad it is literally impossible for the young guys to look good.

I'd rather have the pick

my guess is they are offering a 3rd or 4th and murray thinks he can get a second rd pick for him

For one thing, they could have used Pysyk so they could get out of their own end once in a while.

Aren't 2 of them under 20? Not really sure you can start saying hit/miss this early. Besides, I don't expect too many of these guys to be here in the near future, and i am referring to the younger players. That's just the nature of it, you'll hit on a few, a few will become busts, and the others will get traded for vets.

That I don't know, I don't ask many questions I only go by what was sent to me in the text. Usually small trades like that don't come with to much info behind them. I guess it would be considered a nothing deal, Murray seems to think these players we have that may or may not move have more value then he thinks. I don't know what to think of that as of yet.

No it doesn't but I wouldn't judge them until we put a remotely NHL looking roster together up front and they are over 22. You can tell they will be solid NHL d men, exceptional maybe not but they will be on some team's top 4 for a long time IMO.

The defense is always going to look suspect with this forward group. They are constantly on their heels instead of their toes.
