Meh, I maintain that they would have a Cup already if they had just stuck it out w/ those high-octane Boudreau teams. Those teams were legitimately frightening to play against.

They were too wide open. They were always going to struggle when playing a structured team

I know people hate Montreal, but I respect the tradition and always enjoyed that goal horn. Passionate fans even if a bit stuck up.

Tampa is just fun to watch.

Tired of seeing the same old LA, Chicago and Bruins theme. Give me someone new.

- flyer_nutter

They have the best pregame ritual in the league too. Love that torch lighting the whole ice on fire poop they do.

Montreal fans are kind of fun when they come to the WFC.

I went out with a French girl couple times. Marie. Pretty, outdoorsy and that French fiestyness/fire.

Broke my heart that Marie. I will always have a soft spot for the frenchies.

Ovi is the biggest difference in that team. I think Trotz has him playing at a real high level again.

I loved his quote when he met with Ovechkin. "Ovi, if you wanna be -35, you better score 90 goals for me"

- PhillySportsGuy

Ovi and Trotz kinda need each other, in this situation.

Ovi's rep has taken multiple hits over the years, rightly or wrongly.

I've always liked Ovi, for the most part. He's still a beast.

I actually like seeing the same teams because it creates awesome rivalries. Obviously, new blood is good to see as well.

Watching Chicago vs St. Louis again or Chicago vs LA again would be a treat.

Would be a little funny if Laviolette wins coach of the year.
- flyer_nutter

Im rooting for him and the preds this year. Obviously once the Flyers are officially eliminated

I realize it's a minority opinion; everytime I've interacted with a Habs fan, in person, they were a lot of fun.

The guy that really brings everything together for them is Brouwer... plays a featured role in all situations, can play anywhere up front, 60% on FO's, defensive-conscience, scoring touch and jam.

IMO, he's quietly one of the best PF's in the league right now.

- Tomahawk

He's really been strong for them. In many areas. He's the kind of guy that always seems to play well under Trotz, guys that work hard, play two way hockey, not a lot of fancy stuff, but just a good player.

Corsi Hockey League Champs.

(Seriously tho... if they managed to get a decent dman or two behind Green, they would have been as good as the 'Hawks)

I think they gave up on Boudreau and what he was laying down.

Ok, I hear that, but I think that's easier said than done.

And obviously, they eff'd up on Filip Forsberg.

Am I delusional or is L. Schenn having a solid 1st period?

I actually think Nashville might be the dark horse team this year to make a big run in the playoffs. That Defense and goalie combo they have is scary good. And they can score goals like they couldn't in the past.
- JonnyHammerstix

Lavi has really helped them in the goal scoring department. They are fun to watch now.

The -35 was overplayed by the media, but when Ovi was playing for Boudreau, he was having fun, he played hard, scored amazing goals and was a joy to watch. the last few years, he seemed like a guy going to his job at a law office.

But he's got that glint again, seems to be enjoying himself again.

They are. I will never forget, the year the Flyers made the final against the Hawks I had my car flag up, as per norm any time they make the post season.

Anyway there was a guy that would often wear a Habs jersey at a bus stop I'd drive by. I remember him saying the Flyers were done when down 0-3 to the Bruins when I pulled up one day.

When they came back to win game 7 I saw him shortly after. Same dude. He pointed at my car and gave a huge thumbs up, and you could hear him laughing. They be aight. I will always respect tradition.

Clearly, he's tired of running popcorn over to President Homer.

He did a great job after Grossmann made a really stupid pinch there.

oh, if he gives a poop.

yeah. cant deny where he really belongs if he is locked in. i still think talent wise, him and malkin are the two most physically gifted guys in the league.

OV used to be able to pot 60, get 100 total points, not be a minus 536346 and absolutely wreck people. and his goals came in a myriad of ways too. now, he largely just floats around waiting for his one timer.

- stayinthefnnet

Not really. Ov late December managed to put up an argument for goal of the year. He's playing well.

I'd pay good money to see Steve Simmons wearing one of those.

The -35 was warranted imo. It was worse than it looked, but he would just (frank)ing mope around the ice. I'm sure he hated the coach, but he's the captain of the team.

For sure. Makes you wonder what could have been if the preds never matched the os.
