Speaking of the 12' draft.

Gally on pace for 56ish points this season.

When Edmonton needed defensive and center help, they took the winger.

Now Murray has had injury issues but how in the world did they take Yak over either of them?

I said from the get go that Yak was gonna be a bust. Hope the kid proves me wrong as I never want to see anyone fail but man he's not good.

Buy some magazines like Cook's Illustrated and America's Kitchen. Easiest and best recipes prepared by a fleet of cooks an chefs to be the best. Get yourself an all-clad 12" skillet, the only one you need, and a nice bottle of olive oil. :

All their recipes are easy and gourmet/classic home style. If you have a lady friend, she will appreciate that you appreciate the finer things. If you k now what I mean.

IDK

I remember cooking with my grandmother from an early age (like 5-6). Baking cookies and learning the old ways of making soups, pigs in a blanket, and meatloaf. Things like that. Hell I was cooking the turkey for Thanksgiving by 12 or 13.

- dadeadhead

My older sister was the one that always did those things. I kind of got pushed to the side so I had to figure a lot of it out on my own. But, I've done pretty well for myself. Especially when I wasn't all that capable a few years ago. I could always cook stuff that came in a box or frozen things that came with directions, but I can make things from scratch now.

Baking was a different story. Gram and mom did that with both of us. And I guess I'm doing ok, since you seemed to like the cookies I made a month ago.

Last 1st overall pick that struggled like this (still showing nothing yr 3) was Stefan.

You said you thought he was going to be a bust before he was even drafted if I'm remembering correctly. You said that it's been a while and that we were due and that you had a feeling he was going to be one. So far, you're not wrong. He has 2 points in his last 25 games. If he's supposedly the most skilled guy in his draft, shouldn't he have more than the guy that was drafted at 14?

I did. I said Edmonton should stay clear.

He is part of the problem up there and if/when he gets moved, it will be pennies on the dollar.

They're going to have a hard time even moving him. He's going to need a contract, since this is the final one of his ELC. So he's not signed, could decide to go overseas (even if it's not the KHL), and has been said to be difficult to coach. I don't know that many teams would be willing to give up anything of real use to Edmonton for him at this point. I guess they could maybe get a 5th or 6th rounder, but I just don't see him getting them much more than that at this point.

It would not shock me to see the islanders offering something of value for him.

Like a 2nd next year which could turn into a 1st depending on his stats.

For Yak? Not sure about that. He's struggled and he definitely needs a change of scenery but the talent is there. While he could be difficult to coach, you could also lay blame on the coaching staff itself. Kreuger barely played him and Eakins tried to turn him into a two way forward.

It's no excuse for the abysmal production but I still think at his age he can turn it around under the right circumstances. He'll go for much less that a 1st overall pick should but he'll definitely get Edmonton some value back.

If he is he's one of the 100 they have.

Problem is Ryan Murray has actually done less, and Glachenyuk has done slightly more on a better organization. That draft year has been screwy to say the least so far

Injuries also plagued him but he wasn't very good.
