Mason posting a .919 save % thus far while being hung out to dry on a nightly basis is pretty damn impressive.

I hear he stole the LotR sword. "It'll wind up on eBay at some point. All proceeds will go to the person that buys its charity."
- BulliesPhan87

I don't know who I'm talking to any more...

But now I'm going to Ebay.

I'm a fan of Stormbringer. Just be careful you don't get it too excited...

Why are we even talking about swords? Just imagine this picture without Kevin Sorbo in it:

Are we all sure we know of Mrs. Morin's whereabouts 9 months before Sam was born?

HOW DO WE KNOW SHE WASN'T A HARTFORD WHALERS PUCK BUNNY!

I was at a Whalers game in 1992. The fact an NHL team was playing in that poopbox of an arena was comical.

What's the reasoning behind trading Simmonds? Doesn't make sense to me. I think he has raised his game 5 vs 5
- Just5

the reasoning is either to a) get more picks in this draft or b) get additional picks/assets that can be packaged to move up and get mc eichelifin ....

I never said he doesn't. Are you REALLY not getting what I'm saying? That a guy like Chris Pronger is a better captain than a guy like Claude Giroux?
- jmatchett383

Mark Messier is also a better captain. What you said is that you prefer a captain that leads by example on and off the ice. So the question of how do you know he doesn't, is relevant, if you're going to rate Giroux as a captain. You also said player such as Iginla and Beliveau were well respected and were ferocious competitors that would do anything to win. Does that not describe Giroux as a player?

So I guess the only reason he falls short as a Captain is the team success and longevity that other players such as Pronger have had. That's as much about the team sorrounding the player, as it is the player itself. Giroux can't do much about that. So I think it's really fair to judge Giroux as a captain, based on what we know and can quantify. That makes Giroux a pretty strong captain in my opinion.

Not surprising after facing almost 50 shots total.

Maybe Emery starts tonight* and Mase is back for Boston on Saturday afternoon.

Edit - tomorrow

I also said that they (Iginla/Beliveau/Toews) were classy players off the ice who were very well respected.

Wanna play some grab ass?

Edit: While I don't think he's a bad leader off the ice, I don't think he commands the same presence off the ice that Pronger did, or even that a guy like Iginla or Toews do.

So you think that one isolated off season incident affects how you see Giroux as a captain?

Here's where I think we truly differ, and please correct me if I'm wrong. My opinion on how I rate Giroux as a captian is based on how Giroux leads. Neither of us can factually know how Giroux leads off the ice, so I base it on how he leads on the ice, which is what I can see. As I said before, I don't know what else Giroux can do as a leader on the ice, that he's not already doing.

Your opinion seems to factor in team results, reputation, and longevity into the mix.
